I hope I am putting this in the right place this time....who creates all these names and do they designate them as male or female? I get guys named Moma and girls named Popa. I have to change the name of every female named Banga and the males named Dodo. Sometimes it is sooooo funny....

Yes, some of the names are a bit weird. I laughed when I got a girl named Pippa, because that word in Swedish is a very dirty one (the f-word in English)
In some cultures the male names end with an "a" and the female names with "i" or "o". Though I don't know if that's the case here - a lot of the women in VV have names that ends with "a".

I had twin girls who were named Moma and Papa. had to change cause it was funny, but i did get those names on other villagers, and it was Moma(female) Papa(male) so i married them and pretended they were the family from alabama, alot of families there the husband and wifes call each other mama and papa for the kids sake, and i think its cute,

I keep getting kids named Seven. Being a Star Trek fan I remember Voyager and the character Seven of Nine and I wonder if the creators are Trek fans too.

The names are really funny. If one gets over on me I'll change it or if I get two with the samw name. My secon village only has 18 (serious population control) and I've had three with the same name.
One possibiiity for "Moma" is this: Chechen names frequently contain designations of domestic and wild birds: Khokha – a dove, Moma (muom) – a partridge;
