What am I doing wrong?? In V V 2 I keep having children with NO skills whatsoever. I know mom has skills and I'm pretty sure dad is at least adept in 1 or more. Do I just have an educationally challenged tribe? They may be slow - but they're mine! I would appreciate any "parenting" tips on this!

I have had the same problem. I even had two esteemed elders have a baby to see if it would give them skills, and sometimes it would, sometimes it would give them nothing. It's pretty sad really.. At least in VV1 your children would all be born with SOME skills if the parents had master or adept in something.

Hmm, 2 Master Scientists and Adept parents just had another beautiful but skill-less child. Oh well, I just want 1 apprentice something! Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I don't have any Esteemed Elders yet? I was this () close but alas, poor Gin died. He did father most of the tribe so I guess he was tired.

In VV1, it was establishing the school that allowed children to be born with some inherited skills; in VV2, it is a tech

I have all my techs at level 3 so I don't know why my children are being born so stupid. I have finished all puzzles and am simply trying to get one last beetle. So I know it's not cuz I don't have the proper level of something. LOL

I have 50 Esteemed Elders, and I still have dumb kids...not that either...lol

I've completed everything with one of my tribes (except finding one last beetle), have bred many villagers with Masters in 1 or more skills, but all of my kids are still born skill-less or nearly skill-less. And half of them don't have any likes or dislikes (different issue I know). I didn't see much, if any, change in this as the game progressed. Kind of disappointing.
