You can put the builders on repairs

It think it would be great if there were more for the builders to do though, such as make a firewood collection, mend totems, keep trimming back the briar and vines as well as repairing the huts.

You can create Master Builders by "fixing Huts". Just drop the builders by a hut and they'll start examining and then fixing the huts. I have created Master Builders through this process.

Another thing, this is also assuming that you have done Puzzle 8 and 10

Yeah, mine have fixed the huts so often that they should have golden walls by now

I was helping my daughter out with her tribe and I made a stew to fill a villagers health bar, but it didn't. So I kept her eating until her bar was full. When it got full, 'this villager improved at construction' appeared in the bar at the bottom and it said she was a master builder. I don't think she was before she ate, but since it wasn't my tribe, I couldn't say for certain.
