Hi folks! I finaly completed my VV2 Seasonal mod! Take a look at it.
Here are the instructions to download the mod:

1. Click the attachment the link and download the mod. Then extract all the images into the virtual Villagers 2: The Lost Children images folder. To get to the images folder, follow this:
C:/ Program Files/ Virtual Villagers: The Lost Children/ Images. Then click OK.
2. Now open the game again after the mod has been extracted into the VV2 images folder, you should expect stuff like pigs and cows on your farm, a better fire, and many more!

you should make one that dosn't replace all the files just like one or two.

It wouldn't be much of a mod then. But I'll see...

Well you could just change bodys or make teh birds paper air plains like I suggested before.

Paperbirds? BTW, to change the bodies, I would need to change 2 other images.

These mods are really sweet. I always thought there shou;d be more flowers on the island. I miss the big flower patch from VV1.

I'm modding the music right now its going to be a rock song from the band Kansas... but I cant seem to get it ro work I don't have the appropriet file to put the music into the songs.

Make sure that you have permission to redistribute any copyrighted music that you want to include in a mod. It's not legal to include copyrighted music in something that you distribute to others without first obtaining written permission from the copyright holder.

So bearing this in mind, I'd been EXTREMELY careful on music mods and posting mods like that.

I don't understand - The zip doesn't contain replacements for all the files in the Images folder (example: male_bodiesxx.png). Only SOME of the unchanged files are included in the zip. Is that intentional?

Beckie, this was because the files included in the zip file were a little too big. After all, you only really need the modded images.

What folders are in the Virtual Villagers game folder?

im sorry but this is all that is there C:\Documents and Settings\Dom\My Documents\LDW\Virtual Villagers - The Lost Children there is nothing to click that says images so im confused

um the only folder is DRM and i dont know what that is

Have you tried re-downloading the game? Do NOT uninstall though.

You're in the wrong folder. You need to be in C:\Program Files not Documents and Settings. And make sure, before you start editing any images, that you back up all of those files. If you mess them up, you will mess up your game, too, and a backup will allow you to easily put your game back the way it was without having to reinstall.

I just made the clothes patch for those who don't like the Seasonal mod clothes I made. Click this link: Download VV2.zip. Then click on the file download at the bottom of the page in the link. But you have to wait a few seconds. Then save the file into the VV2 images folder.

Well, I'm going to ask a couple of "baby" questions? How do you make a mod? How do you just make simple changes i.e. hair colour, or is that the same way of making a mod?

Charley and all are doing a great job of making things more interesting with their mods!!

I don't intend to join their "esteemed" ranks, just curious (and I would really love to change that dreadful "baby poo" coloured hair on my VV's!!

I use Photo Pos Lite. It is totally free and AD supported, the only downfall it has is you need to be online while you use it. I want to know if there is another "free" program that is good to use as well because I have been having a problem staying online for long periods of time.

Kittenangel, there is another prgram that is called "Macromedia Fireworks", but you only get a 30-day free-trial.
