Are children's traits influenced by their parents? Builder's children most likely to be builders? Redheads most likely to have redheads, etc?

I think as you progress in the game your children do inherit skills from the parents, but I think the hair is kind of random.

I have a village (scroll down for a photo) of mostly blondes after breeding it into them all from the blonde matriarch. I really want to hear from a programmer though, the logic behind the hair color thing though. I mean, do they have a pairing of all the different types of villagers set with different math statistics for the likelyhood of getting different types of children? I'd love to see a sampling of the code behind how that is determined.

The children do inherit physical traits from their parents, as well as a certain amount of skill. I tend to breed redheads and brunettes in my tribes.

Could you give me a look at the code used to determine genetics? Not trade secrets or anything, just the logic behind it. What did you guys do? I'm thinking maybe a table that gives the possible outcome and the statistical likelihood of each of those outcomes from every possible pairing of villagers.... but I'm dying to know!

Mine were all red for a while, then i ignored them and wouldn't you know i got some brownies up... ahhh well, reds still dominate!!!!

Awww, not the ACTUAL code... just the logic behind it... how it works. I mean, is it still POSSIBLE to have a black haired child from two blondes, just not very statistically likely? Or is there only a certain list of villager possibilities from each parent pairing? Stuff like that.

You should see the one male I have. He looks like Bozo the clown got dropped off but he has strange colored hair. His parents should be normal looking villagers but I think there is a mutation in there. He is also useless. He will do nothing. Am looking for a stew that will turn him into a frog.

The one with short grey hair? Yeah, I did away with her and her little blonde friend, she is now a long hair blonde while her friend has the princess head.
