Ok, I have started this game 5 times and I am hoping that this one will be the charm.
My people do not eat!
Can this be just on MY GAME? They also do not fish and they keep going for coconuts. Seriously, can MY GAME be a botched version?
They are always weakened. Even if it's on normal speed and I only leave for 3 hours. My VV1 has been running for about a month. These people know how to fish, farm, and eat!
I have to spoon feed my people until they get healthy again (which takes forever) and then some die anyway.
HELP before I quit and delete the whole thing!!!!
Terri
P.S. I noticed that there's another Terri on the forum. Hello, Terri and everyone else!

TerriDean, there's a patch coming out soon which will help with the ornery behaviour of the farmers...in the meantime, a couple of things: Try not to grow your population so fast it outgrows your capacity to feed. Also, if you're going to be away for a while, either pause your game or leave it on 1/2 speed You may need to check on the health of your builders and researchers more regularly, and switch them out to farming for a bit if they're getting too badly injured - before they get seriously weakened

One thing that helped me a lot was the special stew that restores health...of course, you have to have the caldron to make it, but once you have it, you can go to the "guide" section and find the recipes for the stews and make the stew to restore health...then you will just have to put them on it once to restore all their health. I too have been frustrated at how hard the game seems. I know some of it are things they are working on...but I worked SO hard to get to the end only to have to wait days and days to try and get all the collectibles with no other "rewards" available. Very frustrating!

Be careful too if you pause the game and come back to it if they are low on food, or sick. In the beginning before I got a decent system for food down, I'd pause the game and when I'd come back to it, I'd use the 2X speed option and my villagers would wind up dead. So now when I have to pause the game, I make sure to come back into it at half speed and change it later.

I didn't see anywhere a mention of your fire. Is it lit? Do you keep it lit at ALL times? That will not only help your research go faster, it helps keep your villagers stay healthy as well.
As stated above, the restorative stew will help your villagers recover. Make the stew, drop ALL your villagers on it before it goes away and their bar will be filled back to full. This is a lot faster then repeatedly dropping villagers on the food cart.

Thanks so much to everyone who responded. Before I "QUIT" I always make sure that everyone is fed, healthy and the fire is lit to the max of 19 hours. But they just keep on dying. Tonight when I go to sleep I'll try putting it on 1/2 time.
To be honest, my population is almost always 4-7 and I have nothing built and very few tech points BECAUSE of all the feeding I have to do! I seem to spend all of my time feeding them! I am really looking forward to the fix!
Most times I have no children, they die first, so I cannot even get mushrooms!
The stew is the best if I can save up enough points to get the cauldron because it does not subtract food points. If I have the cauldron, I try to feed them off of that before I quit for a few hours.
PLEASE HURRY UP WITH THE FIX!!!!!!!
Terri
