I finally beat the easy level on VV2 - I had so many tribes die I'm leary about trying the other two. As soon as I finished I started thinking about how there's an opening here for a third VV game. Even started dreaming it up. (Possible spoilers for both VV1 and VV2.)

Virtual Villagers 3: The Mysterious Village

One day in the first VV Village (A New Home) the Golden Child, an ageless powerful wonder, hears a mysterious noise. He's drawn to it as if hypnotised. He's last seen running into the cave.

Of course, he pops out on the other side. The VV2 villagers try to stop him, but he runs up to The Gong Of Wonders and rings it - instantly his powers are completely drained. He's the Golden Child no more. Now he's just an ordinary little boy who'll one day grow old and die.

The over-charged gong rings twice, loudly, by itself, before shattering into billions of pieces. The first gong opens up a passage between the two villages that people can travel safely. So both villages are now united as one.

The second gong opens up a long over grown passage into the jungle. There's evidence that many people passed this way. Six people are instantly drawn to this path as if by magic even though others try to hold them back. One male and female from NH village, one male and female from LC village, the former Golden Child and one girl child from the LC village who's the same age as the GC.

As they walk the path, the jungle path seals up behind them, cutting them off from friends and family. They have no choice by to go forward.

At the end of the path they find the ruins of what was once a great village. Only a handful of people left. These are the ones left from the original inhabitants of Isola. Something has happened to them, they have no memories of who they are or why they abandoned their old villages, destroyed so many things, etc. Our little band of travels set out to heal them. There are many books left on the history of Isola, but no one remembers how to read them.

Somehow these people must find a way to survive in the middle of the jungle, translate the books, and find out what happened on Isola to cause people to destroy their religious artifacts and abandon their children.

And somehow, some way, keep history from repeating itself.

my only suggestion on the game itself would be a counter so we know when someone is going to go up in a skill... having it like:

Research: 150 points 10,000 till Master

Something like that would be nice \:\)

Yes that would be absolutely wonderful (being able to see how many points they need to get to the next skill level) as well as maybe being able to see how many skill points are needed for each level (I know, sounds like the same thing, but it's not) ;\)

If and when VV3 comes out--LDW should go into another business and sell me an extended life battery for my laptop to go with the game \:\)

A storm was brewing, high winds started blowing the ocean water all over the village. Within a few days, water was beginning to stand. Food and tools were being washed away. Buildings were about to collasp. The villagers knew if they had any chance of survival, they must evacuate.
A meeting was called. How will they ever get off the Island of Isola?

Samual, a Master Builder remembers there being remains of one raft, but there was no way it would ever hold all 90 villagers, especially in this bad storm. It would be dangerous but they could fix up the raft and a few villagers could try to battle the rough waves of the ocean. But what about the rest of the villagers? After a few moments, Siarra, a Master Farmer remembered something. A few years ago, when she was climbing the coconut trees, thick vines fell down from the top of the trees. Every coconut tree had them. The villagers all got up and walked over to the trees. It apprears as though there are many more coconut trees heading NorthEast. But are they strong enough to hold someone? A brave young farmer climbed one of the coconut trees and found the thick vine hanging. Parts of it appeared to be rotting. He started pulling on it and tugging it with all his might. So far so good! He decided to give it a try and climbed out to the vine and began to hang from it. Low and behold it held him! He wanted to give it one last test and started to swing his body. Yes! It was safe! But will all the vines be safe?

The villagers knew they had to do something and do it quickly or they would all drown. Each day that passed, more and more water stood in their village. This was extremely painful to witness. All their hard work over the years, going to shambles.

The decision was made. The elderly and infants would tackle the raft. They would also be the ones to get what little food they had left. As for the rest of the villagers, they would have to swing from vine to vine to get to a safe area. They could eat the coconuts along their journey.

It was very risky but they knew they had no time to waste. The builders got busy right away repairing the raft and double checking the vines. The farmers used the cauldron to store what food they had that was salvagable. The scientist gathered what few tools they had left. The villagers escaping by the vines may need them.

Water was beginning to get knee high. If they didn't leave now, they will not make it. They have one last meeting, and a prayer for a safe journey. They will all be traveling in the same direction so the first group to make it to a safe area, will stay and wait for the other group.......if any make it!

So I guess I'm not the only one. LOL

LDW can have my idea for free (like I'd have a choice since I posted it on a public forum - LOL - it's all their's if they want it no matter what I say). Though a 5% off game purchase would be nice, but it doesn't have to be. *winks*

Yeah, LDW, you make addictive games!

i agree with the so many pts til next level thing...would make it a bit less frustrating...

also..maybe add a hunting/hunter/gather tech skill...i think it would be cool (fishing and harvesting is ok but our villagers crave red meat) and it wouldn't have to be gory...

i am sure i will think of some others...
