One of my Master Scientists (a very lazy one) was caught "rain dancing" on my garden.

I have a Trainee Doctor that is going around from herb to herb studying his little tail off.

Hmmmmmm. Verrrry interesting.

Wish I could get my training doctor to do that! I have to drag her around all the time. And just what does the hospital do?

it gives your sick villagers a place to congregate so the dr can get to them all faster when they do make their rounds

Jolene, the trainee doctors will only do that (that is, study on their own) if they have no other previous skills. They will do this up to a certain degree - I will not tell you here in case Accphotography doesn't want to know.

I have a wierd villager who goes to the wood pile and gathers wood all the time, and she never takes it anywhere.
I know that it's a glitch, but it looks so funny, because she gets the wood and stands up and then goes back down to get more.
Normally I would remove her and put her back to building, but I have enough builders, I want to see how long she will do this.
Probably as soon as I shut down. But it still looks funny to me. lol

I've had villagers who dance around the fire; more like jumping than dancing!!

Then I've had villagers who complain and praise one another.

I've also had villagers who have no parental skills watsoever but always smooching and going to the love shack!! LOL!!

But so far it's the names assigned to the villagers randomly which intrigues me most! I've had names like Papaya, Unagi(Yum!), Babaco (??), DoDo (lol!!) ...etc

I wonder how the names are inserted into the game.. there's so many!

I've had several villagers do rain dances while the crops are growing. I also noticed one villager going back and forth in the air between the high rock and the black vine and it said she was "complaining." I picked her up and put her down in the middle of the village and she was fine then. I think I'd complain as well if I was stuck up in the middle of the air!

In VV1 I had an event that changed an adult woman into a little girl again. She was nursing at the time.
The next thing I know my little girl was carrying around a baby as big as she was with 117 minutes left to nurse. lol

Oh that happened to me, too. However, the next day, the baby she's holding was gone!!!! But according to her details, she's still nursing for 2000+ minutes!!!!!! What just happened to the baby? The population number didn't go down.

I'm just now downloading VV2 as a trial version. I've had some ODD things happen in VV1, but some of the things that you've all mentioned sound absolutely hilarious! The strangest thing I had happen in VV1 was an adept doctor who had to carry his "pet" rock all over the island and even into the ocean. It was a wonder that he didn't drown. I can hardly wait to try out the new game now! :>

I have had that happen to me often.
But I was noticing a strange little behavior just the other day.
When my villagers go to the "Dream House" That is what I call the house where the honeys go to dream and then wake up with a new little bundle.
Anyway just before they go into the house, they bend down as to pick something else and then seem to crawl in, because they don't stand back up
At first I thought the men were being shivilrous. And taking thier new bride over the threshold. But they both do it.
What are they doing? And why crawl into the room?

Do you happen to have a totem in the vicinity? Some of my villagers frequently go "chatting" with and "complaining" to one of my totems, but it's the same totem every time. I have it sitting on the beach near the firewood.

I now have a villager that goes to the graveyard a lot. She always takes some flowers and spends most of her time there.
She isn't getting any points at all.
She will never master anything.
It is the weirdest thing. It is like she is morning over one of the village elders.
Sometimes I get a little freeked when they refuse to do what you want, and they keep repeating the strange behavior. It is like they have a mind of thier own.
You know like movies when the machines become human like. WICKED!

I started a new game in vv1. And I have 2 of everything. My villagers are in thier late 50's and I have a couple of young ones. I haven't had a death until I turned the game back on after being on vv2 over night. Well I have been waiting for the villagers to bury him, None had. So I picked the villagers one by one and put them on the deceased villager. Everytime I did the villagers ALL would say they improved at healing. They were healing the bones. Now that is so bizzar.
That is what I like about this game. It always keeps you laughing.

Not sure if this would classify under strange behavior or a _bug_ in the game, but for several hours one day, half of my villagers had no heads! I exited out and reloaded the game at least 10 times to no avail. Just had to wait until their heads came back. My three year old and I both thought it was hysterical. I think I had about 30 villagers at the time and 15 were headless!

Same as in VV1, when the game opens, sometimes the graphics take a few moments to catch up

LOL at BecBoyles headless villagers, hillarious! Thanks for the tip about the totem, Lysbeth, that explains why some of my villagers go to the graveyard - but usually it's when I am not here. I come back and find them returning to their work like guilty little school children, caught in the act, but they never do it while I'm actively playing the game.

My second time through the game, and the strange behavior now is that all the villagers are behaving well! Knock on wood, no lazy people who refuse to learn. If I could only get some girls! Said in another post; 10 weemales no weefemales.
Hoping for one of those vials to change gender! hehehe

Yes, 'dislikes' is far to weak a word to use in this sort of case. Perhaps 'phobias' would have been better?

I've just been watching an esteemed elder cooling his feet in the stream whilst carrying a bowl of water. I decided to see what would happen next. He then chose research (I uncheck their preference boxes as soon as they become elders, so they do what they like). He carried the bowl to the research table and hung onto it while conducting research. Then he went into the research hut and when he came out it had turned into a bowl of berries. So funny LOL

Have you ever noticed if it is their own idea they will do things they dislike? I had a villager who disliked turnips but would harvest crops as long as I didn't make him do it. I have also had ocean and fish haters that would fish and swim when they felt like it. The funniest to me is the one who dislikes fish and the ocean but likes swimming!

I now have a villager who I cannot change his clothes or get him to do any work.
The females constantly keep coming to him.(He is not a parent or anything, nothing at all)
He is constantly waiting for someone.
And everytime I try to get him to do anything he goes back to waiting for someone.
I wanted to change his clothes and he would go in,but turn right back around and wait for someone.
This is a first for me. They always at least do something.
He isn't even getting points for the women going to him. NOW THAT IS STRANGE!

Hey Blue, does he have any likes and dislikes? Is he sick? (I mean other than constantly hanging around waiting for someone and getting hit on by females). When they hit on him does he go indoors with them? He sounds fascinating, frustrating, but fascinating. I've never had one like that.

If you check his age, he should be the oldest eligible male in the tribe, so everyone will want to go chat, complain tell jokes to him - and any women who initiate parenting on their own, will choose him, and the parenting skills go to the one who initiates \:\)

It's not exactly a 'behavior,' but I'll post it here anyway. My first and only couple - a baldy white guy and a chocolate-skinned redhead - give birth blonds one after another. Maybe the white guy used to be blond before he went bald. Maybe my blondie children will lose all their hair once they reach 20. I'm not actually complaining, in real life I'm quite partial to bald guys. \:\) I worry, because one of the blondies is female. XD

Hi Spyro, does this child happen to dislike running? I had a very slow moving villager right from 2 yrs old and she lost collectibles as well.

That villager is now 43 years old. He evidently has been like that since he was 14. I never noticed it before. But I tried to chamge his clothes and he'd go in but turn right back around and stand there waiting for someone. He isn't sick or doesn't have any other problems, he is just waiting for someone ALL the time.He hasn't anything on any of his bars. Nothing. He won't learn anything. He goes into the dream hut but because he isn't the one that initiates he doesn't get any points for it. I started a topic about him. I said he'll soon be my dirty old man. He's all the womens sugar daddy. LOL

Children who dislike running will often lose collectibles and mushrooms on the way. It seems to take them so long that they forget what they are doing and start on something else. I suppose we shouldn't blame them too much; a child's attention span is much shorter than an adult's. ;\)

True, Arnie, but we must make sure not to give any of our precious collectibles to non-runners \:\)

I had a villager who was sick. And when she picked up a shell half way there it disappeared. She was too slow. But I have also lost some with children who run, but if they get them when time is almost out they'll disappear also.

I saw a villager in the algae infested water, so I checked to see what in the world she was doing.... it said "Changing the baby". The first thing out of my mouth was "Into what?!?!?!" \:\?

I have changed the names a few times to something I liked better. I've also had the game name different people the same name and that can get confusing.

The strangest thing to happen so far to me was with the "mirror." The woman looking in it suddenly became twins but with the exact same name, likes and dislikes, etc.

I haven't seen the mirror? With my luck it will be my "the Pretty girl" who is now so lazy she doesn't do much... Time to train up a new doctor I think

I have one guy who runs away a lot. then he will come back and finish what he was doing. I have another who is stockier and became an elder early but as soon as he did he started walking slower and looking around a lot

I had a 69 year old elder go to do his laundry and then decided to swim in the lagoon. He went up and jumped off the cliff with his laundry, got out of the water(with his laundry) and went down and cooled his feet in the stream(with his laundry).Too funny. I also had a villager reflecting in the graveyard. Not too unusual, but the first time I have seen it. also a female who dislikes surprises and is always running away.
