Okay, it seems like I've seen this topic elsewhere but I can't find it now. Here's the situation:

This is my second game. My first group of villagers is still going strong, having completed all the puzzles. I now just visit them every couple weeks and make sure at least some of the young 'uns have breeding skill so they'll keep reproducing.

My second group, though--aye aye aye! They have had fishing skill since very early, and they'll fish somewhat, but if I leave them for even a couple hours, when I come back their food will be depleted to a couple hundred and they'll all be wandering around worrying about food (but not doing anything about it!).

What is UP with them? There are 82 villagers, many are children, but there are PLENTY of grown-ups to feed them all. When I'm supervising, we quickly bring the stores up to a thousand or so and keep it stable without any trouble, even while most of the villagers are researching.

Anyone have any insight?

Thanks!!

Heather

The situation that you describe is something that can happen if you try to support too many villagers with too few farmers.

Oh, okay. Thanks! I appreciate the quick response. They actually seem to be doing better now--really since about 15 minutes after I posted that, of course! LOL Some of the children matured, and it's like they hit a critical mass on the proportion of children to adults or something and suddenly they're collecting enough food to keep themselves fed.

Thank you!
