I love these games, but used spoilers to help with the first one. This one I want to do as much on my own as possible...but I feel like I am stuck on a really basic, early survival thing.
I cannot get my crops to grow because birds eat them every single time.
I know the people scare the birds away, but the past 3 crops have been ruined by the birds. Like, there will be one minute left until the crop comes in and I will get excited and without even seeing any birds it will say Sorry birds ate your crop!
I have increased the amount of people that are working the field to no avail.
Any little tips?
I have 9 people (a few died ) no food and 42K tech points (the ocean is offlimits due to algae)

If you have kids, you can put drop them on mushrooms that appear randomly on the island, but the go quick. And put your game on 1/2 speed, your villagers will eat less per village year.

Knew the mushrooms, but I am not getting many of those
Plus I think the birds just ate the crops again grrrrrrrrrrr

Explore a little with some of you villagers and see what you find.

And don't forget that villagers with different skills will see different things. A scientist, for example, will notice things that a builder or farmer won't see, while a farmer will see things that the others will miss. Also, the more skilled your villager is, the more they will be able to see.

Ok I guess I give up too easily.
Yay we finally found it! Titta is building it now I hope some people live until she is done and more crops come in.
