I have two games going at one time and the second game is just about to the self sufficient point. I don't check on it nearly as often as the new one I am running where they are still learning. Well last night I paused my new game, but absentmindedly (and 3am tiredness) I forgot to pause the second one. Tragedy ensued and I am wondering if there is any way to get it back. If there isn't, I understand. I messed up big time. But if there is, it would sure be helpful. :-)

The answer is, it depends. What have you done since you discovered the tragedy? If you exited the game, then it was saved that way. There is a backup savegame (Isola22x.ldw, where x is the number of the game slot), which may or may not be useful in recovering the game (it could have been saved with your dead tribe, as well). The first thing to do is to copy those files elsewhere and then selectively restore them to see what happens.
