Being a mum myself who nursed the first two years of her child's life, I feel that parneting should rate higher tahn it does. A child's mum and dad are his/her first teachers, the one who molds that little soul, that has the most impact on that child's life. Every time a dad or mum tells a story, takes the time to teach, stops to playa game of tag (I have several dads who do this with the children) even make a pot of stew, this should count. And I agree; I would love to see a dad pick up his child, Let the nursing mum let dad hold the babe for a few minutes. Allow the 14 years to baby sit for a bit while the mum works. I would also like to see a Master Teacher, a Master Spiritual leader(let that be the person who buries the dead as well as perform marriages) Right now, I appoint my eldest man as the Master Teacher (the kids love it; by the time the old fellow arrives, school is over) and the eldest woman is the Spiritual Leader i.e says a few words at the grave of the dearly departed, perform the weddings and oversees the immersions of the 14 years before they start working in the communty.
