I've finished all puzzles for 2 full days now and still no sign of missing collectibles....

Am I ever going to get them? I really want to know what the reward for the whole collection is.

I have been waiting for four days to finish my collectibles?! I'v even started another village today as I'm soo bored with it....I wouldn't like to think that finding the collectibles should take so long after all the puzzles are solved.

The collectibles are an optional part of the game, and were designed to be difficult to complete.

I am still looking for the last pebble but the butterflies are what keep popping up.

I'm missing one butterfly and one beetle. What happens when you get them all?!

Oh a CLIE user I see! I loved my little SJ33. I was so sad when time came to replace it and I had to get a palm. Now I am in love with my E2 though.

I am beginning to wonder if there is something wrong with my V V 2! I mean, when I first began playing it, collectibles were popping up all over the place (shells and butterflies). Then when the villagers built the dam, pebbles rapidly appearing. But, the longer I play, and the more times I start a new game, the slower the collectibles show up. It seems I am CONSTANTLY fast scrolling to search for them, but they are just not appearing except every once in a blue moon.

I know..."be patient"..but it is really becoming ridiculous! Even at level two of all techs. Would uninstalling/reintalling make a difference here?

I have the same problem and I have finished all my tech levels and all my puzzles. Still waiting on one purple beetle. So I don't think reinstalling will help.

That seems to be how the program is supposed to act. You just have to be patient and keep looking. As the game goes on you will find your missing collectables. I’ve been able to complete several sets, but the last two of each set seems to take forever. I think it is one of those watch pot things.

does game speed affect the intervals in which the collectibles pop up?

I have not seen where game speed effects the rate they popup. From what I understand they have their own timer, like the farm, and the timer is not affected by any setting or game condition.

what bugs me is that the collectibles will popup even if you have your game paused. Not fair!!

LOL, yes that is another "benefit" of having a separate timer. But that is why the collectables was added. Gives you something else to do after all the other puzzles are completed.

Believe me you'll all get your collectables.
I had such a hard time when I was waiting just for 1 butterfly.
I thought that it would never be found.
But it takes patience and a lot of scrolling around.
But what is good about them, is they continue to come and they are what really gives you your tech points.

Ok, but... does "difficult" here only mean, "they take forever to all appear"??

In my first village, I had all but the Rare yellow pebble.

I got all the collectibles except one beetle with level 3 of exploration. Now I have that and still can't seem to get to the last beetle, and nothing else is happening at all.

I just scroll around while I'm waiting to gain tech points. Which, btw, increase significantly everytime you get a repeat collectable.

In my new village, I have all collectibles except for the rare pink pebble.

Oh, I have to get 2 pebbles, 1 butterfly (the rare pink one) and two beetles

I am in need of just a few of the rare items / collectibles and so I too decided to start another village as I wait. The frustrating thing is the one last rare shell I need for the first village just appeared in my second~

I was only missing the purple beetle... after 4 or 5 days of neglecting the game I came back to it to finally go and check to see if I can get that last one... took a few hours but I saw the last one! The sad part was that I didn't pay attention to the game that I didn't have any kids to pick it up!!! Oh the agony! ...

Regarding collectibles - I learned the 4-kid thing from this forum. But did anyone else mention how you can get multiple copies with less than 4 kids for new items?

Probably they did and I just missed it.

the two eldest won't be able to pick it up, so with fewer than 4 children, you will not be able to pick up multiple items

You can with new items. Even with only 3 kids I could get 3 copies of the rare red star and the rare green shell and 3 copies of two of the uncommon butterflies. And presumably with other items (though I've only been able to manage it with uncommon and rare items, not common, which is weird to me) But only when it's a "new" item.

Very handy and the beginning of the game.

How do you get beetles? I have the exploration technology, but nothing is showing up

You have to clear the brambles and vines above the research table to get beetles - you need exploration to get the tools you need to clear the brambles.

There is an oddity with my collectibles right now. My first village I am still in need of a total of 3 collectibles; two bugs and one pebble. All of the puzzles have been completed, every tech has been researched, so it's just a matter of waiting. But the weird thing is I recently started another village and some of the missing items from the first village are appearing in the second. Some could say it's a coincidence, except I have yet to complete the puzzles and each technology is only at a level 2. But the most frustrating is when the collectible appears and you bring over many children and still it doesn't register as seen, and then disappears.

One day I might get a set of collectibles... one day! Best I've managed so far is 10/12.
