I haven't seen this addressed anywhere and it's been bugging me...

I have seven gravestones so far, and they all have "Master Scientist" as the Job (five of them were Esteemed Elders, while two of them were only "Dedicated Students"). The thing is, I know some of them had different skills checked when they died. Is science the default, such that if the villager is a master scientist nothing else matters? Or is it related to what the villager was most recently doing before he/she died? I haven't seen any of them die, so maybe they were all doing research just before they expired.

Anyone have any knowledge about this?
Thanks. \:\)

Sorry, I don't know how the wording on the tombstone is decided BUT did you know that you can change the wording?

Click on where it says "esteemed or master" and type in what you want.

The title on the gravestone is based on whatever they were highest in i believe, not what was checked at the time of death. Not positive though

QuickStorm - No, I didn't know you could change the wording! I noticed how it looked odd with the quote marks and the extra spaces, but I didn't notice the cursor.

Village_Monk - That's the one thing I didn't think of! I would be surprised if you weren't right.

Thanks!

Yes, I'm pretty sure Village Monk is right that they will be marked with whatever their highest proficiency is. However, I also wonder if it doesn't read what they spent the most time doing, as a secondary measure in case they've totally maxed out two skills.

I named my oldest villagers (first arrivals) male - Founding Father; female - Founding Mother. For those who don't have children (the baldies) - Dear Friend.

My male Founding Father just died in one game. He was also a Runner. He just failed to make Elder, alas. I changed the wording on the gravestone to "Leader and Runner". If there were more space I'd have written more \:\(
