One of my adult villagers (VV2) just received "the hand of wisdom/knowledge" or something like that. I think she had just become a village elder. What does this mean?

I'm trying to give my villagers a good push towards becoming Elders by starting them all off in healing when they're old enough because they all seem to want to be Farmers or Researchers but not Builders or Healers. Anyway, out of a village of 95 inhabitants I have around 25 or 30 Trainee Doctors. I was looking around earlier today and I saw a large group of villagers running around in a huddle by the research hut. I selected a few and discovered that they were all Trainee Doctors "Healing Someone" and more were rushing to join them so I think they've finally got the message!
