Yep, I've learned that the hard way... except with mine I'm running short on food, and I've seen 6 red mushrooms in a 20 minute period. Arrggg.

In the beginning of the game I pick one girl to be a master parent and I keep her with child all the time. That way I have a very hard time getting to my population limit and I have stairstep kids that always provides me with a way to access my "goodies."
