Hi all, nice little community you seem to have here!

About the fishing issue, I have been going nuts with the same problem. Seems that they would rather starve then fish. After reading tons of post and then the answer to puzzle 6 it seems to me its not so much as a glitch or _bug_ but instead they won't fish as a "saftey" issue if you will. It takes a LONG time to purchase what you need to fix what tons of fishing can cause. If they fished all by themselves freely then you would really be hurting for food when you are out of crops and nuts and couldn't fish either.

As for those nuts, the villagers must all suffer from,OCD to be so darn fixated on them from the moment they leave the saftey of their mothers arms! \:\)

Oh, we all love nuts, Keri! \:D

Timing is the key to everything. It's works much smoother once you know what you need to do to get to the point of sustainability. Then you can concentrate your efforts on those, and you'll be able to keep up with your food resources, no problem! The first time through was rough for me (in fact, I lost my village due to starvation), but the second time through, I had a large store of food all through the game (during the initial times, it was usually kept up to about 1000 or more). I now have a population of 32, and growing strong (food stores in the tens of thousands).

LOL, my tribe did that once. Just keep dropping villagers in the ocean, they'll eventually relize.

I have to admit that I have the opposite problem, now. Everybody wants to go fishing, and nobody wants to tend the fields... *sigh* Even the ones I set to research keep leaving the table to go fishing.

Who can blame them, though? I'd rather go fishing, too. ;D

(You know what they say... Give a man a fish, and he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish, and he'll sit in a boat for hours, drinking beer.)

I'm lucky, I am on my first game going on the end of day 3 and I have only lost one villager and it was to starvation, unfortunatly he was only 10 "sigh"....so young. What was really bad was it was during the night and since they ran out of food no babies were made and he was the youngest member. Surprise, Surprise that the 2 new collectables I have been waiting on appeared when I had no one to pick them up and they have come back since.

Yeah, that happened to me, too. Part of my strategy to keep the food supply fresh was not to start having babies until my village could sustain itself. So for a while I couldn't collect items. Then once I had my food under control, the villagers went on to baby booms.

I'm with Neddog. My villagers prefer to fish over tending the field. I have to keep dropping my farmers over on it so that they will tend to it. \:\?
