I was having a food crisis (since I hadn't gotten level 3 farming yet) but the berry bush seemed to stay around 300-400 berries (replenishing itself). Then the parrots came and ate all the berries and the bush hasn't grown any berries since. Is the bush dead or does it just take much longer for the berries to come back?
