LOL Frances, to bad the search didnt work for you theres allready two threads similare to this one, i started one and somone else started the other, but thats ok, cant have too many places to put pics, nice to see you found a use for them, mine are decorating my pond, this pic here was taken early on, i now have several more, and their lined up following the stream, almost to the mosaic now, i will take a new shot later, just waiting to earn two types that im missing, will be pretty when its all done.

Question: I have finally a totem (jippie!!!). Does the totem appear where the villager is at the moment she/he reaches the status of esteemed elder?

Yes Calimero as far as i know it apears where they were standing the second they recieved elder status, and if your off your game, when you open it up its where they were standing when you opened it, at least thats how its working with mine.

I also would love to see a bigger image of your poles Blue, I'll bet it look good. How did you get sooooo many? I only have 1 yet but I am still trying.

Wow Blue, thats alot of totems, i dont nearly have as many, but heres mine, All 30 of them. i planned on moving them around the mosaic as soon as my collections are finished, dont wanna block the last ones lol

Hey Village Monk how'd you get nice looking totems?! I always get plain brown ones.

Those totems are part of an MOD cant remember who made them though sorry, i have those now as well.

to get 51 totems you need a specific island event to happen to a esteemed elder, and also the answer may very every time.

I'm still making my elders now though, how many elders shall i make at a time im currently making 4 elders at a time.

What I do is make sure each villager learns 4 skills (usually Farming, Research, Building, and Healing) as soon as they reach age 14. Then I leave them on their own, i.e. I don't check any of the boxes in their Detail. Some refuse to learn more than one skill, forget them.

When the trained ones get to around age 40 or 50 they will usually be Masters in one or two things. Then I direct them to the skills that are lagging.

So far only 14. But 5 since I started using that strategy.

Here are all 50 of my totems on top of each other. When villagers jump off the rock, they come out the mouth.

From my understanding, you can get over 50 totems by getting an event where you choose a language and a mirror breaks. But you need to have an esteemed elder alive. If you reach 50 and they all die without the event taking place(like myself), then you can never get a 51st.

I put mine around the mosaic now, because its such a good idea, but I only have 48, sigh, but I have two more on the go. My mosaic patter is a bit different, because I have some in front of others. I'll post it when I get 50.
