I've started a 2nd tribe (newbie) 1st tribe isn't thriving as well as I would like. What would you say is the best order for the Techs? As soon as they build I want to use them. Just looking for helpful hints. Thanks.

the order you choose to buy your techs is completely up to you

people have a variety of different strategies, although i would say that Engineering is probably tops

i always thought farming was tops in order to keep your general population alive

Well, look at what engineering allows you to build that helps with food

I personally find that buying the techs in order of price (cheapest first) aligns well with a smooth strategy. With maybe a couple swaps, depending on immediate need.

farming for me also!!! you need to keep your tribe alive. once you have that you can then work on the other tech levels and hopefully not starve

Engineering first for me, then Exploration if I can manage it; If I'm not doing that well I might be forced to get Farming.

i buy all of the farming first so that they don't starve and then i work on the other techs

First I buy farming, then I buy engineering. I learned the hard way to do it this way. Then, farming again. After that, it doesn't matter so much.

If I can manage it, I avoid buying L2 Farming until I'm ready to buy L3 -- in a best case game, I would buy L2 Engineering first, then L2 Science, maybe L2 Exploration, then L2 and L3 Farming, then L3 Science and finally catch up on the rest.

The science techs help getting tech points, so I feel like it's silly to leave them until last, when they don't do me any good!
