So what interesting likes and dislikes have you seen on your villagers? I have one kid who dislikes the ocean and another who likes fish (Lucky you, 'cause guess what's for dinner?) One kid likes bees and dislikes drums (But what if bees with drums come for you, huh, what then?) Yet another dislikes wind. I'm always afraid he'll have a nervous breakdown if I open up the map. Two different girls dislike work and learning respectively. Luckily for them (by which I mean me) I can keep them busy raising babies and they won't have to suffer through the TERRIBLE trials of working and/or learning. Two different villagers like whale meat. I suspect they're out of luck, I haven't seen anybody catching whales lately. One of my scientists hates herbs, and he's always wandering around so I constantly forget and grab him when I'm trying to make stew. Auuugh. And I have a few villagers who dislike dancing or joking. Being a villager is SERIOUS BUSINESS!

I have one right now that not only likes learning, but also dislikes resting! Sounds like the perfect villager, right? But her other dislike? Learning. Dumb as an ox. So I'm just gonna breed her and hope for more runners! Also, I've seen a couple either like or dislike red, but not sure what that means. I tried to get one that liked it to study the red plant, but no luck. Any ideas what, if anything, it means when it's regarding a color? And, have you seen any colors other than red mentioned?

I actually have seen other colors mentioned. One of my first kids dislikes 'green' and I think someone else liked green instead. No idea what it means. And, eerily enough, my girl who dislikes learning dislikes resting too! I don't think likes/dislikes pass down. I tried breeding two of my first villagers a few times because one liked snakes and one disliked them, and I wanted to see if their kids would go insane. Nothing doing; I haven't seen any mention of snakes in any dis/likes since.

My favorite are the villagers who dislike sunlight -- they must just be very depressed all the time! The ones that dislike work or learning are just a pain -- not much you can do with them, although I've had one make elder (not sure how that happened!) -- jen

I have two villages going and decided tonight to start a third as I am most likely going to wipe out my second (I don't think I'll ever get any master builders from that one). Anyway, first off the game only gave me two females - a 24 year old and a 2 year old. Then, the kid that was old enough to work has only one "Likes" and no "Dislikes". His one like? Resting.
There is a 9 year old boy that walks like an old person. I checked his likes and dislikes, he dislikes running! Aaagh!
I am going to keep playing this village just to see what may happen. If it goes from bad to worse, heck, maybe I'll let them die off.

I think I said this some where else but it's the strangest dislike I have seen. I have a 2 year old who dislikes 'playing' which makes me think maybe parents who goof off make kids who are too seriousO_O??
Maybe not..

I just got a kid who dislikes laundry, which is nice. No 'I'll just go do a bit of washing then!' when I'm trying to get him trained.
And they really, really mean it when they say someone dislikes work. I can't count how many times I've had to drag that girl away from the pond. Two more years, just two more years.

Earlier I posted about my 9 year old boy that dislikes running so he always walks around like an old person...my two year old girl is 4 now and the 9 year old is 11. Well, the 4 year is not to be put off, she's playing tag by herself and she's "It". LOL!
Dislikes playing? What's wrong with that child?! LOL
I would love to have one that dislikes doing laundry, you're right, everytime you are trying to teach them something new that they don't like and you take your eyes off of them, they are "doing laundry" or "cooling their feet" or some such thing. But if they actually like what they are doing, there is a lot less "taking time off to do something else."

Oh, those ones that dislike running can be aggravating if you put them in a job that requires them to walk any distance (such as building or farming). You should probably make him a researcher when he grows up, so he can stand in one place the whole time.
I'm so very glad I haven't gotten any who don't like work yet...
