So what interesting likes and dislikes have you seen on your villagers?

I have one kid who dislikes the ocean and another who likes fish (Lucky you, 'cause guess what's for dinner?)

One kid likes bees and dislikes drums (But what if bees with drums come for you, huh, what then?)

Yet another dislikes wind. I'm always afraid he'll have a nervous breakdown if I open up the map.

Two different girls dislike work and learning respectively. Luckily for them (by which I mean me) I can keep them busy raising babies and they won't have to suffer through the TERRIBLE trials of working and/or learning.

Two different villagers like whale meat. I suspect they're out of luck, I haven't seen anybody catching whales lately.

One of my scientists hates herbs, and he's always wandering around so I constantly forget and grab him when I'm trying to make stew. Auuugh.

And I have a few villagers who dislike dancing or joking. Being a villager is SERIOUS BUSINESS!

I have one right now that not only likes learning, but also dislikes resting! Sounds like the perfect villager, right? But her other dislike? Learning. Dumb as an ox. So I'm just gonna breed her and hope for more runners!
Also, I've seen a couple either like or dislike red, but not sure what that means. I tried to get one that liked it to study the red plant, but no luck. Any ideas what, if anything, it means when it's regarding a color? And, have you seen any colors other than red mentioned?

I actually have seen other colors mentioned. One of my first kids dislikes 'green' and I think someone else liked green instead. No idea what it means.

And, eerily enough, my girl who dislikes learning dislikes resting too!

I don't think likes/dislikes pass down. \:\( I tried breeding two of my first villagers a few times because one liked snakes and one disliked them, and I wanted to see if their kids would go insane. Nothing doing; I haven't seen any mention of snakes in any dis/likes since.

My favorite are the villagers who dislike sunlight -- they must just be very depressed all the time! \:\)

The ones that dislike work or learning are just a pain -- not much you can do with them, although I've had one make elder (not sure how that happened!)

I have two villages going and decided tonight to start a third as I am most likely going to wipe out my second (I don't think I'll ever get any master builders from that one). Anyway, first off the game only gave me two females - a 24 year old and a 2 year old. Then, the kid that was old enough to work has only one "Likes" and no "Dislikes". His one like? Resting.

There is a 9 year old boy that walks like an old person. I checked his likes and dislikes, he dislikes running! Aaagh!

I am going to keep playing this village just to see what may happen. If it goes from bad to worse, heck, maybe I'll let them die off.

I think I said this some where else but it's the strangest dislike I have seen. I have a 2 year old who dislikes 'playing' which makes me think maybe parents who goof off make kids who are too seriousO_O??

Maybe not..

I just got a kid who dislikes laundry, which is nice. No 'I'll just go do a bit of washing then!' when I'm trying to get him trained.

And they really, really mean it when they say someone dislikes work. I can't count how many times I've had to drag that girl away from the pond. Two more years, just two more years.

Earlier I posted about my 9 year old boy that dislikes running so he always walks around like an old person...my two year old girl is 4 now and the 9 year old is 11. Well, the 4 year is not to be put off, she's playing tag by herself and she's "It". LOL!

Dislikes playing? What's wrong with that child?! LOL

I would love to have one that dislikes doing laundry, you're right, everytime you are trying to teach them something new that they don't like and you take your eyes off of them, they are "doing laundry" or "cooling their feet" or some such thing. But if they actually like what they are doing, there is a lot less "taking time off to do something else."

Oh, those ones that dislike running can be aggravating if you put them in a job that requires them to walk any distance (such as building or farming). You should probably make him a researcher when he grows up, so he can stand in one place the whole time.

I'm so very glad I haven't gotten any who don't like work yet...

I wish I could breed a whole village of Runners!!

I have been breeding solely from this Running Mum but her kids never inherited her love for running.

I'm so impatient!!

trying the same with a runner-dad - no luck so far - and these people talking about running-triplets make me soooooo jealous!!!

funnily enough i just realised that my first master scientist actually likes resting - but he's wonderful at research, he also became a master builder quite fast, i'm only having tons of trouble turning him into a master doctor - he'll wander off every single flower and what's much worse: he'll even sometimes prefer enjoying the pond to healing people.

likes/dislikes are NOT inhereited....they are random

And is it jsut me, but every time I get a villager who dislikes Red, they are wearing red...

I want to know why so many of my villagers have no likes or dislikes, and then I'll get one or two that have two of each?!?

only one colour dislike so far, but she's also wearing it partly.

there's a funny posting on the VVI forum where a girl not liking one colour (red?) was not only completely dressed in it but her hair had the same colour too.

I figured he would be no good at any of the work except research, so as soon as he turned 14, I put him at the table. He's working with the one other guy I had doing research and he's passed him up already! This child will never make Esteemed Elder, but I'm sure he'll be a Master Researcher, at least. \:\)

funnily´enough my coconut-disliker who's afraid of the palm trees if put there, has no problem whatsoever to harvest coconuts on his own - suspicous - i gather he only doesn't like force maybe ;-)

I was wondering what else the height dislike did! I had one girl with that dislike, she would panic if you put her in the pool but if you dropped her on the hill she would happily jump off into the pool.

I just had a kid born liking papayas and berries. Should have been born on the other side of the island, kid.

I've got a farmer who dislikes fish. She's the one that I keep tending the crops, of course. She started with a natural affinity to farming, as a child. I forgot her dislike and tried to drop her in the water to fish, and she just ran right out again.

I was finally blessed with a child who dislikes laundry. \:\) But I was also cursed with one who dislikes learning. She shure is a purdy child, though!

i've got a stubborn one too - i kept wondering why she wouldn't learn building or farming after she had already mastered research without difficulties - she doesn't like learning.
the only funny thing is the science master - but I won' t complain about that one

Well, my child that disliked running became my first master scientist, but even though he is only in his 20's at the moment, he still walks like an old man so I'm not even going to try to train him to do anything else. I thought about trying to train him to be a doctor, but I figured the patient might just die before the doctor made it to him/her. LOL! Anyway, the other odd thing about him is that he looks kinda like a giant compared to the other villagers. I didn't notice it while he was just a child, but by the time he was 14 or 15, I started noticing that he was at least as tall as the other adults and now he is noticably taller than all the rest. Another weird thing related to height is that the original little girl (who was 2 when I started this village) is also very tall. They are both blonde as well. Hmmm...could be related to Vikings?!

I have a villager who hates turnips. Didn't look at her likes or dislikes and tried to make her a farmer. She had a panicked look on her face and ran for the hills every time I tried to put her in the vegetable garden until I saw on her profile she didn't like those darn turnips.

One of my villagers dislikes wood. I noticed it when I first set him to building and I saw him 'running away'. Later he'd become a master in farming and science so I set him back to building, forgetting his dislike. After running away a couple of times, he now seems quite happy collecting wood from the woodpile, although he seems to prefer to collect boulders instead. His dislike of wood can't be too strong.

I had a villager who disliked blue, but was wearing a blue outfit from the get-go! Luckily, the little gal didn't hate blue so much that she had to run away from herself. LOL! Had another who liked whale meat but hated swimming. I guess that one had to depend on the kindness of others!

I got one a while back that likes play and laundry and dislikes work and learning... after a LONG time trying to teach him to fish, i finally got a little point in his farming, then left him alone thinking that was enough to get him going by himself. I went back to the game a few hours later to find out that he had aged 20 years (36 yrs old)... but his farming points were still the same and he's on the river doing laundry!!! \:\)
