I've seen posts that you need to do something to raise your population limit over 90. I've tried everything I can think of. What do I need to do?

When you complete a collection-that raises it by 5
I'd imagine it's also like VV1--where if you only have room for 1 more baby-but then you have triplets-then it can go over.

Thank you! I'm missing one in each of the 4 collection catagories. I'll keep looking.

I have a population of 25, and cannot seem to raise it. There are no indications that extra housing is needed, i.e., construction appearing, and the villagers are not going hungry. There is plenty of food since the ocean has been cleared of algae.
Would anyone know what I need to do to get more babies?
Thanks!

i was looking at someones picture of thir village earlier and they had all their people with orange hair. How is this possible is it due to selective breeding- only those with orange hair or is it just random?

1. With each completion of a set of collectables your max goes up by five. If you complete two sets your max will go up by 10. Completing all four sets your max will go up by 20. 2. I can confirm, women over 50 cannot nurse any more babies. 3. Yes it is due to selective breeding. This is similar to FT.

thanks soooo much for the 50+ women --> finally I've got my first totem and "working" hard on the second one - these two guys were sooo close with their parting skills and still didn't seem to make any progress!!!

I apologize, but I am STILL a bit confused here. Am I to understand that the population cannot increase beyond 25 unless another one of the collections is completed (I already have completed the pebbles collection)? Initially, I figured it was because there was not enough housing, so I had them completed the only construction appearing, which turned out to be the sewing hut, and didn't make any difference (yeah, I know...call me 'dense!')
Can someone please lay it out for me here -- how the population progresses? I don't understand why this was not included in the rather lengthy strategy guide provided. I printed it out and use it as a handy guideline. Perhaps I am missing something?

The max population (with all huts constructed) without any collections completed is 90. If you have one collection completed it will increase to 95. Two collections completed it increases to 100, and so on. Hope this helps.

Old Player, it can sometimes take many tries for a particular couple to produce a baby. If your villagers are of breeding age (18-49), then just keep trying. As long as you don't get a message that there isn't enough housing, you will eventually prevail and make baby villagers. There are strategy, hint, spoilers, and stew guides here.

i'm only at 17 so far and had a 2nd housing hut appear that could be built.
it's just south of the first one. maybe you're too low on some tech stage or something similar.

can someone confirm, that they don't get pregnant starting from the age of 50 anymore? could be another reason. I too am having the same problem. All of my women are over 50 (lots of young men though) and the women won't get pregnant. I have one child (a girl) and I guess she will be the one one to get preggie when she gets old enough. Have tried to breed all the different men with the age 50 women and older and no success.

2. I can confirm, women over 50 cannot nurse any more babies. 3. Yes it is due to selective breeding. This is similar to FT. I have a 67 year old woman nursing a baby! This is definitely Virtual Village 2, not VV1. What's going on? I have completed all the puzzles, but none of the collections yet. I don't know how to send pictures, but she's 67!!
