I'm sure everyone is familiar with the "Chime" effect which comes on now and again with the background noises and music in the game, just wondering if it has anything to do with ITEMS/OBJECTS(for kids to pick up) appearing in the game.

Just heard the "Chime" go and then a rare pebble appeared.

To some people it could sound like someone tapping a wine glass with an eating utensil.

I was wondering the same thing! I think it may just be a coincidence though.

Ohhh I think I know the answer! (that is a rare event for me TeeHee)

Anyway - watch your "tech counter" and each time it registers another point(s) it chimes (sounds like bamboo wind chimes?)

Let me know if this is the one you are talking about.

I STILL have NEVER heard the "chime" that others talk about when a collectable shows up - and I even turned the sound effects up higher.

Hmmm....

I'm pretty sure something special happens when the chimes go.... I'll have to observe the tech points going up, but then I've got so many villagers working at the table it'll probably chimes a million times every time the tech points go!!:D

I have noticed that 99.9% of the time when I hear that tingling windchime-esque sound, I either get a collectable or a mushroom!!!

well i heard that sound about a hundred times within the last couple of days and at least half of the time nothing showed up (and i did a lot of looking around as i was desperat for mushrooms) also most of the times something did show up no chime was "ringing"

99% of the time when I hear the wind chimes I get a collectable, there is also a sound like a very faint whistle and I seem to get mushrooms then. Of course this all may be in my mind, I am totally obsessed lol

I think the faint whistle is just when the birds are around... as far as the chimes... we were having a wind storm here and I kept thinking it was my windchimes outside lol... then I realized it was the game, but nothing really special happened when it does chime.. sometimes I get collectables other times I don't..

the tinkling sound in the background is independent from the chimes
