Hey I was just interested in what strategies everyone else has come with for playing VV2.

I just started a game and have gotten the Farm engineering, and science tech 2 and am now working on science tech 3. I only have 10 villagers to keep the food stocks up. Just wondering what other peoples ideas of how to play the game are.

I like to do the same as you are... get em food then build reasearch skills (and science tech)

Then I'll get farming 3 and start on rest from there

I disagree, I had 3 games playing with that strategy and
and they all ended up with Algae, on my 4rth game I still
have not gotten farming 1 and have gotten crops, and no
algae in my water.
So I say building, exploration, science, then culture and medicine.
If you get in a crunch for food put all your villagers
on the crops as soon as they come up until the are
depleted and wait till they regrow and do it again!
That way all your villagers have farming skills building too.

Not questioning your strategy, Brown, but you will eventually end up with algae. It's also a puzzle you have to solve \:\)

I know but with the first 3 villages I have gotten it with only 7 or 8 villagers.(way too early for my liking) Before the last child was even able to work!
So I figured I would try something different in the 4rth village.
I have no algae, crops and now level one in everything except farming. So now with only 8 villagers I still have all my coconuts untouched for if I get the algae!

I must admit.... I did change my strategy today once I realized the villagers don't go back to fishing once the coconuts run out.... Now I'm tryin a new tribe focused on fishing (w/o farming tech) until I get a large supply of food then onto research for science tech...

I decided not to buy farming first (like I did with the first game) and I still have no algae. I think buying the farming is what gets you the algae. So I am going to prolong that as long as possible. (my first village died from no food because of the algae & the fact the crops take so long)
