The waterfall makes a lovely back drop for a wedding. Weddings is on my wish list for VV3.

Yeah, I like that idea, too. You can always tell when a villager (particularly one of the ladies) take a real shining to another. Sometimes they change affections though, and start pawning on a different villager.
