OK i need lots of help if anyone can help: I have NO food 9 villagers and level 2 in everything except for culture... 2 kids and 7 adults and i've tried to get mushrooms, but i can never find any. PLEASE HELP ME!!

It sounds like you've adjusted your computer's system clock. That messes up the game, and that mode of play is not supported. You might just have to start your game over.

I had the same problems yesterday and when I woke up this morning, everyone was dead!

I had algae in the ocean, no food, no coconuts & the birds were eating every crop for hours! I was looking frantically for mushrooms but they're only worth 6 and I had 13 people. Today I started a new game.

I too got impatient and adjusted the clock and that's what happened to my crops too, eventually all the little people died and I've since started over and let it run on it's own time, it's hard for those of us with no patience, I've found this time around to alternate the food sources, rather than fishing out the ocean ASAP I've staggered fishing between crop harvests, which typically if you don't TT are about an hour, although now my pop has grown and they're eating faster than I can grow it, but I'm almost at L3 for food and there are still fish in the ocean. Just my 2c

What can you do about the birds?

It's a puzzle that can be solved fairly easily. The best thing to do when you're looking for ways to solve puzzles in the game is to drag various villagers around to see if they notice anything that will help. You should try different villagers, because farmers, builders, and scientists will see different things.
