Which Island event do you dislike or even hate?

The one where a a pop up comes up saying "this child wants axcess to the research table alone, how ever the request is strnage.

i allowed it and it turns out the kids wasnt a member of my village and he ransacked my tech points and stole like 3000!

I had a flood that took out all but like 50 food.

I haven't had many events I keep hearing about stuff but don't ever have many.

I hate the table one and the one where you get the scratching thing from the boy then it whipes out a whole lot of your food. Anything that whipes you nearly out can't be good!

I just got one where one of my girls said that she thought she was the prettiest girl in the village, and wanted everyone to agree with her. The options were to

agree she is the prettiest

or

looks aren't everything

Well I felt sorry for her because the only other female was nearing the age where they can't breed anymore, so to humor her I chose to agree that she is the prettiest.

Now the little princess doesn't want to work OR learn. Bad luck to her though, cos she's got four years left until she can just sit back and have babies, so like it or not, she's working!

the stupid parrot made me lose tech points...where is a bb gun when you need one...grrrr

I got that one about biggles wanting to be alone at the research table.....and I had just renamed all of my people! So i knew that wasn't one of my villagers, i stupidly still allowed it and he took over 3000 research points! Grrrrr!!!!

similar to the princess - one of mine wanted to be the fastet runner. i could decide between agreeing and letting them race - did the latter, he fell, strained his ankle and now he hates running --> he was walking around in the speed of an elderly from his 19th on or so

I just had a terrible pest or something similar, of course cant remember the wording anymore
All coconuts went rotten, the food in the food bin turned black....

I'm only getting the diastrous ones it seems:

last night, after they had been working for hours and hours and hours on getting enough tech for 3rd level science along came the
obnoxious parrot
some "unfriendly" animal that kept bothering my scientist at the table so much that they lost a total of unbelievable 33.119 tech points. I just managed to get the 150000 a minute ago.

And then about half an hour ago the flood from the waterfall diminished my food to 750 - and I was so happy it had risend above 2000 for the first time.

This doesn't fit in the events you hate category, but I just had the funniest one. Everybody got hay fever allergies, and just stood around sneezing for a minute.

Same as bluemchen .... Obnoxious parrot grr. i was also going for 3rd level science. with me it too 37000- 38000 tech points aargh and i was just at 149000 sigh.

I don't know if your including the gong. But I hate the one that takes life. I lost a lovely girl villager, she was only 18yrs old. She died while I was trying to take her to the health stew. I always make one before I do the gong. But events, I hate the drinks one exept the orange, which gives them skills.

A lot depends on the time when an event arrives, and what choice you make. For instance, if your villagers are just about living hand to mouth, the arrival of a couple of more mouths to feed might tip them over the edge into starvation, even though events like "Old Friends" and the "Barrel o' Babies" are generally considered "good" events. Similarly, If you've got a big tribe (90 or so) late on in the game pretty well any event won't affect them very much. Even if all their food is wiped out they'll normally collect a couple of thousand in a few minutes and not be at any risk. Even if all the tech points were lost, it wouldn't matter much as there's little to spend them on apart from fripperies like new clothes.

In a smaller tribe, however, such an event could be disastrous.

A lot of events have two possible outcomes; one bad, one good. In a couple of the cases already mentioned the players made the "bad" choice. If they'd made the other choice they'd probably reckon that the event itself was one to like, not hate.

I can't say that I've had an event that I could say I hate... Biggles is kinda annoying, but I've wised up to that one, so it's not such a big deal.

I had event today foul passing event the coconuts rotting off the trees the food rotting Which left my villagers with no food and having them pacing up and down the village centre worrying about food. I soon dragged them all to the ocean to fish.

I dislike INTENSELY any of the events that have to do with mass illness ... it takes a long time to get everyone healthy again, and for the elderly loss is a possibility. Everyone walking slow, all the coughing and hacking, .... ewwwww!!!

Upside - EVERYONE gets a shot at healing ... I make sure the doctors get well first to help out, but I drop EVERYONE healthy no matter what their skills are, on the sick ... so they all get a taste of being a healer. You never know ... might help out in the long run with future illness events. If I need to, I also make the healing stew to bolster up the health meters. But it takes time, especially if you are at full capacity in your tribe with 115 villagers!!!

In fact, it doesn't matter if the villager is healthy or not. I've used sick villagers to heal other sick villagers in the past, then the healed one has returned the favour.

The only event I've really disliked is the one where the babies get taken away in the night. That's sad.

ARGH!! that flash flood just wiped out over 200,000 units of food

only left me 750 units for 89. no make that 88 as one must have had a heart attack and died!!

I hate the event where some of your villagers make a boat and leave. Just my luck I've had it happen twice.

I hated the one that has the wild boy from another village that come and messes your stuff up...and the flooding one that wipes out most of your food

You see the reason VV3 happened is because some villagers went off in a boat and got lost I think.

I hate the event where that dumb parrot comes and takes food.

I hate that one too. I also hate the one where the pesky parrot startles one of your scientists and causes you to lose tech points.

Yeah, but it never fails. I lose some cool looking villagers that I wanted to keep, and surely it didn't have to happen TWICE? When VV3 comes out, I think I'll have the starting villagers named after them though.

With a full crew of 115 villagers, I got the Baby taking one ... and even though it has happened three times, I've yet to find one child missing!! My village was still at full strength and no one was missing!!

i hate the parrot one i had like 117 villagers and like only 3 of them weren't sick so i had to heal 115 people....it sucked

the one in vv1 where someone sees eyes in the forest but when u say get a closer look they are never seen again. ugghh!! i lost my fave villager!!

This event was in VV1 but still hated it...
I had 7 villagers (had just started the game) when 1 of my 3 working adults saw eyes peering at him.
The options were to investigate or leave it alone. I opted to investigate and he disappeared forever. I was then down to 2 working adults and could only assume the worst had happened to him. Yikes!!

I had a little baby villager open a sack and she was stung by lots of fire ants or whatever. Sad way to go!

Thats okay because I can not find a way to make my people explore! All they want to do is make babies and swim

I had wild child event today whether to lure him away with food or chase him away, as a rule I usal choose to lure him away with food, I noticed there food was amost gone not enough to feed him so I had to chase him away. lost 3000 tech points but thats okay I got too many tech points to notice any lost. The lost was when I click on ok, I did not gain a new villager and the bit of food the villagers had was on 0

i had some ants kill my cute villager Yapono! at least he is ugly. i hate ugly kids.

I hate it also, but it's a VV3 event! Here in VV2 the ants can be even more nasty!! (look at the post above yours!)

well, I got flash flood like two days in a row, wiped out all my food and i had 73 villagers to feed! still hate that event.....

Really confused here, WM. You said ants killed a cute villager, but then you said he is ugly. Or was ugly, if he died.

yeah. if you look at the post above yours, then you will see that a dead villager is worse than a food-taker.

The one where you ring the gong! it takes a life. If I get a bad one, I just restart the game. To get another event!

Well, that cleared up MY confusion. I'm a moron. I must be, because I still don't understand. Since it's my own fault, I don't need to bother to understand. Crisis averted!

okay, that is enough. what about island event that you like or even love? i hate the events where you get more people. no, no, arnie, you need to keep your popualaton below 14 or such a event could be disastrous. the more villagers you have, the more tech points the parrot takes away. i have only one scientist, and i had that parrot, it only took away 200 tech points.

I generally consider gong events to be 'events,' though they are a separate class of events from the usual 24-hour events. I'm not sure what this refers to. The last reference Arnie makes to events - which was in March, mind you - He says that in a small tribe, a few extra villagers might tip them into starvation. He seems to be agreeing with you.

As for the parrot, I don't see him mention that at all. If this is about tech points, the parrot is not the only thing that takes tech points. I've had events totally wipe me out before, right down to zero no matter where I'm at. As Arnie says, this isn't a big deal in a complete village - you don't have anything to spend them on, and tons of scientists to make more. In the early game, when you're struggling to get fishing before you starve, lost tech points can kill you.

I dislike most any of the 'find a mysterious liquid' events. If I dump it, nothing happens, and no more events for the day. But am afraid to try any because the outcome always seems bad. Anybody ever have a good outcome from trying a liquid?

For the liquid, generally, there is a colour that's good and another that's bad! You may look in VV2 Guides, there is a topic about events!

Rats!... everyone gets sick!. And the sick parrot as well...

rats and the sacks that appear on the beach. i never choose to drink one bc I don't know the affect. and I dont feel like trying. and the sacks are like the only event I get it is soooooooooooooooooooooooo annoying
