I've had the bottom-of-the-screen glitch too, TerriDean... essentially, they get stuck down there and can't move or do anything. If an item does pop up down there, you have to make sure they're above it enough to be able to take it back. Not that I can speak from experience, 'cuz I keep forgetting to do that myself...
