With my first set of tech points I bought farming - so I can get coconuts; with my second I bought Engineering but I don't see them doing anything new. Did I screw up?

Did you try dragging any of your villagers around to see what they might be able to do?

Does culture level 2 do anything new? Boy, I feel like a poet and didn't even know it. lol

If you go to the tech screen and click the "?" for each tech, you'll get an idea of what they do.

I understand that. I just took one of the villagers around and I see nothing new for that tech level. I assume I need the third one for the grass covering that writting by the pond? Or am I using the wrong villager?

There are frequently multiple requirements for puzzles, and some techs do more than one thing. You just have to keep experimenting.

Well. I'm lost so I guess I'll just wait and see what happens later when I get enough points for level 3 of everything.

Yep and thanks to that I was able to purchase the correct thing next. Good thing I checked because I was gonna go for something else. Let's just say it won't be long till I have my 3 master builders now.
