I accidently left my village on 2x speed and now everyone is dead except 2 females. I manage to get their health back up and they have food. Is it possible to survive without men? Or will I get a "baby in a barrel" one day, like in VV1?

They can certainly survive without the men. There are a few island events that introduce new villagers in VV2, so the best you can hope for is to have one of those. With my luck, I'd probably get another girl!

WOW, an island without men. my dream come true!!! LOL! just kidding...

That's what happen on my VV1 game; one man waiting for the ten year old girl to grow up. They had five children before he died; all girls. Then, after the mum died, the girls found a crate with an todder inside. You guess it; another girl.

I'd been there with five sisters who then found a crate with a girl. It didn't turn out well. I will pray you recieve boys very soon

I will keep you guys informed. So far still no boys. They are doing great through. Lots of food, and they are working on tech points and stew right now. Maybe I will find a stew that will bring a man...

I just had an Island event today, where a new couple turned up from the other side of the island. So cross your fingers, you never know.

I had one of my games on pause and I opened it, started playing my only male died. Now I only have 5 girls left. I am going to try to finish with just these I have if I don't get a boy in a barrel of fun. Haheheh.

This will be interesting, nonetheless.

okay, here's an update. one of my ladies passed away last noght @ the age of 50. So now I'm down to 1. Nothing for her to do but research, she has plenty of food. no one around but her. Level 2 on farming, science, and exploration. Level 1 on everything else. Should I give up or keep going?

You should read the story of The Hard Tribe from the first Virtual Villagers game for a little inspiration.

Just a guess, I've noticed a trend... if I have a Master + Master parents I get a boy, but if I get a Trainee + Adept parents, or any other combo, I get girls...

Anyone else?? by the time I've noticed, I've tested this three times and so far, I'm correct, but I don't need anymore little ones running around right now.

the gender is supposed to be completely random

it is probalby a coincidence that it turned out that way in yur tests

try it a couple hundred more times and see what the ratio is then!

I have one game with only 2 women they bred most of their lives and produced only boys, unless i get an event i have no hope

@soraluna: you get points in the statistics for triplets, but that's it

You are completely right!! I tried and all the babies turned out to be completely random, but I do have about 30 population, half adults and half kids, I'll be racking up tech points soon!!

I'd had two Hard tribes. One where everyone but a male and female starved to death. Yhey had six children; two boys fours girls. The tribe survived. The next one was a little girl of ten and older man. Dan married Sage when she was 18. This story is found on "Do You Have a Story to Share?" There is another story called the "Hard Tribe," and it gave me the courage to go for it twice. Go for it; whatever the outcome, it will be a great story.

I now have a tribe with three males. I am praying to the gods of Isola to grant me a baby in a barrel please. If not, I shall watch them heal one another into old age and have the comfort of knowing they were heros all.

Oh while, I started another tribe and so far I'm having better luck with this one.

Down to 2 both in 40's. I left the game for awhile and when I came back I had an Island event. Of all things she drank an orange liquid and became an adept parent without a man or a child. How Ironic...... I cracked up laughing.... How mean and funny this game can be sometimes..... Makes you wonder.....Is it Real....What is Real.... Take the Blue Pill or the Red Pill.

Apparently there's more than just the barrel that might save your village. Hopefully you'll get company before they hit their 50's!

I had an event where a savage child appeared (a boy)on my island. Lured him with food, uses alot, but he became a member of my village.

As soon as I read the opening of the game (villagers fell through a hole) I thought "I wonder if that could happen later as an event?") - was my first event in my second game. I've had the savage boy on another game, too. Can you get a savage girl? Are the savages always the same age (the barrel babies seemed to be on the first VV game, but I only got that event three or four times, so it may have been coincidence)
