Ok I have a master builder for almost 2 days. The other one is so close but I just can't get her there. She is always working, but still says adept builder. I am trying to open the stupid box on the beach. I assume I need two to accomplish this since the master says he can't do it alone. She is my only female who is of breeding age. I am torn as to either breed her again since I only have 9 villagers since I bought the game on Thursday or waiting it out for her to get her master skill.

Different villagers learn at different rates, and I find that leaving the game off produces master builders more quickly than running it all the time.

I wish I'd known that sooner I've had the game running constantly since buying it 10am Thursday (UK time) only turning it off when going to bed, cos I didn't want to miss those rare collectables still all I need now are 1 shell and 2 beetles, hurray!

Alright got my second master builder overnight. But they still won't open the crate! I know I must be overlooking the obvious. I am enjoying the new game, it is more challenging.

in the guide it tells you that you need 3 master builders to open the crate. I learn't that out of MY frustration lol. I'm having a terrible time getting my builders to master. they have been at adept for almost 3 days now grrrrrrrrr

Yeah, the whole master builder thing is a pain. It takes way too long to get one and there isn't enough to train multiple ones continously. Should be a little simpler.

That's exactly what is about to happen to me which is why I am a little annoyed that 2 adept builders haven't gained a single bar level even after building two huts. Grrr...

I have yet to get any and i've had them working for 3 days now! ALL DAY today...yeah, I've got a life eh lol Point being is that they have been building projects and fixing huts all day today and everyone of them are still at adept. It's very frustrating.

My game is off every night when I go to bed, and even when I go out. My builders have been at adept for now going on 4 days. They are also getting older, i've lost a couple already, and nothing seems to be changing with their skill levels. They get to adept and stay there.

I have 3 master builders, but I have two old "hens" that started building later and they don't seem to be progressing much at all. I've quit the game for a little while (per LadyCFII's tip) to see if that helps them gain a little faster. I'd hate to have to breed them to death to get that 3rd master. ;\)

I think I'm nearly done with all my building and I don't have one master builder (I had one and he turned his toes \:\( )

I have 4 adept but like everyone else they don't seem to be improving even after completing the last 2 buildings - there may be more who knows and I'm not looking at guides etc

Do you think there will still be a chance to get them to master just by fixing huts? I don't let the game run while I am out or overnight either.

If not I'm giving in and starting again because I can't bear to not complete everything ( and that's even though I've been playing since Thursday and have 6 puzzles to complete and have nearly all the collectibles!)

boo hoo

Yes you can get masters by simply fixing the huts.

What I have found to help get masters builders early is only have one or two builders work on the projects. With this I'll always get three masters before all the building projects are completed.

i try to get a male builder, and a female builder and make them have a baby so that the child would have some skill in building, then i train him/her when they are old enough. then i have 3 masters in no time!

well FINALLY! lol I got my 3 master builders. I have one puzzle left and that's the last gong piece. What I'm curious about is has anyone else had problems getting all the collectibles?? I need four in each category and I haven't seen any of them yet and my game is almost done.

Having said that.......waaaaaaaaaaaaaaa....what am I going to do now??? LOL......VV3 coming out soon??? LOL

there is no end to this game, same as the first

there are so many many things you can do with the game

or maybe you should learn to use those image editor program things and start on the new mods

I have all my shells and lacking one butterfly. I still need about half of the other catergories. But I am taking the game very slow. I only have 12 villagers and either 7 or eight puzzles yet. I still only have level 2 in every tech. It is a slow going game.

Do you mean put the game on pause before closing down? I have done that, but my adept builder is now 60 and still hasn't made master. I have built the cottage and two buildings, built the dam and cleared the vines, still only one master, he was the runner so he moved pretty quick. I am out of things to build and have 3rd level of engineering. Population of 27. This villager just needs the master builder completed to be an elder, but I am afraid he will die before he gets his master builder. I have five builders and only one became a master. Why are builders so slow?

no, don't pause it
that stops progress

i would put it on 1/2 speed and let it alone for a while

I don't know if this helps anyone but the way I've found to get higher builders is to wait and not build anything till I get the dam part of technology and then set three builders each on the three projects. That is to say I set one to the broken down hut, one to building the other hut, and then one to the dam. If you put it on 1/2 speed then food doesn't go down as fast and then your workers can work and it will take longer by themselves meaning more construction points. It hasn't really gotten them to masters yet in my game but its getting them really close.

Still frustrated with my builders, I had one who was already adept when I set her off building one of the last two buildings, she is now 67 and still adept and probably won't make master before she turns her toes, the other I set off at 14, she is now 27 and helped build the last 2 buildings and she is still also adept, if she hasn't mastered a trade by now it's not looking good lol aprentiships only last 4 years in real life. The 2 guy builders I have aren't doing any better and I have 2 puzzles to solve and 2 bits of gong to get...grrrrrrrrr
I'm going to end up starting again \:\(

Thats weird.. That it takes so long for you to upgrade your builders. How I did it was to first put my adept builder and two others on building the huts and the dam. My adept builder was by then a master but the other two still adept. Luckily I could make the cutting tool so then I put those two on cutting the vines (or thornbushes) and when they were done tadaaa!! Masters!

[censored]... I've got two master builders, and a third adept who is JUST on the verge of becoming a master, but now I've run out of building projects. The huts are done, the dam's built, and the briar's cleared. I guess I'll just have to build up more tech points and solve another puzzle to find another building project? I hope my masters don't die by then! One of them is getting up there in age (and should become an elder soon - master in two skills, adept in one, and trainee in another).

I started off and gained one master by building and fixing the first 2 buildings and then the dam and the thorns but I didn't realise at the time I'd need more than one, by the time I realised my one master was ready for popping his clogs and it was too late to get others up to speed, which is why I think I'm going to have to start again lol
I'm hoping the last 2 puzzles might help and am furiously racking up tech points so I can get my culture and exploration level 3. Wish me luck

You sound as frustrated as I was Nita...but hang in there. Took me four days to get even one master builder and then BANG, all of a sudden I had my 3. I was getting a little nervous though because they were all getting up in age once again and I thought I was going to lose them. I think my oldest elder was 73 when they died.....So like I said...hang in there! It pays off in the end!

There is a way to train three master builders at the same time, I've done it on all four of my villages. As long as they're already at adept, you should have no problem making them all master builders at the same time after you get the cutting tool. I think that actually is the way that you are supposded to get them. It's the only way I have figured out that doesn't involve training one at a time, which risks one of them dying before you get the others there.

I'm fed up with waiting on Cate to master building... she's got the same amount of skill in it as farming, and she's master at that. If she'd just master building, she'd be an elder! Grrr

Keep working him! He'll cross the "line". There are still some issues with the skill bar. So keep him working, and he'll become a master.

Well, now I've finally got another building project for my adept builder who's almost a master... I think it's a new hut or something. Do new hut foundations pop up when you raise your population to a point?

Once she's been able to build a little, I'll have three masters for that crate! Two are nearly elders already. My adept builder is busy nursing right now though, so I'll have to wait...

I'm having fun with this game. \:\)

it's more than fun...it's flippin' AWESOME! My b/f says I'm addicted...I tend to agree with him cause now I'm done (pretty much) and it only took me 4 days lol. I have a question however...I have finished all puzzles...banged the gong....but I still don't have all the collectibles....they are VERY few and far between and I can't sit at the puter 24/7 to grab them when they pop up (although my b/f already thinks I do for this game lol)....my question is: is the game done when i have all the collectibles??

I don't know.. I'm too far away from finish... that with the boyfriend I recognize. Last weekend we came home and he said: Don't you want to look into your peeps? (That's what I call them, my peeps) and as he said it I was already infront of my computer seeing if that darn doctor finally made master! WHAAAA It's like you can't teach old dogs to sit! He's 60 and he's trying to make (I'm trying to make him) master for his past 2 years!! But he just won't cross the line! Won't kick up his heels and step it over! It's driving me nuts which makes me spend more time playing this game, which makes my boyfriend complain more. I'm contained in a bad bad bad circle. The VV circle... \:\?
