I have noticed something strange today in VV1:

I had about 7-8 nursing mothers, population count was 90, every once in a while my population count went down without having any bodies showing and my burried villagers count never got up.

I know I had a few nursing mothers that were over 70. is it possible that they have a "cap" as to how old they can be when giving birth/nursing and that if they reach that age while nursing the baby will just disappear?

Kinda puzzling me there...happened 6 times today!

and I also noticed today that one of my villagers died of old age and there were no new tombstone for him. The burried villagers count reamains at 50, both when countng graves and in the stats...

Strage stuff...

your graveyard can only hold so many.

Ahhh, so that could exp[lain the "miscarriage" issue... possibly the nursing mother passed away (wihtout leaving a corpse?) but the baby would still become a kid...
The count passed from 90 to 89 without a corpse...
Or the nursing mother would have passed away just after finishing nursing...
It's s little funny as I noticed a corpse after a 77 year old female farmer passed away even though the gravyard count is 50.
Might be possible that there is a "failsafe" built in the game as while an "older" nursing mother is nursing, nothing can happen to her until she is done nursing, but since she would have passed away quite some time ago, when she is done nursing, she passes away but the corpse doen't appear as it would have been picked up already some time ago...
...wondering ...wondering

If you have 50 people buried in your graveyard, you will still see a corpse. The other villagers will "bury" them as usual but no added tombstones will appear because you are full.

Probably they are burying the bodies before you see them.

Nah, I've been watching closely the last few hours, picking shrooms (got 907 so far!) while I wait for the mac release of VV2 !!!
I have been closely monitoring the population count and I noticed that my child count increased by 1 just as soon as my population decreased by 1 without showing any body.

That leads me to believe that there definitively might be a failsafe prventing nursing mothers from dying while nursing, and that the corpse does not appear due to the time elapsed between the time she should have died and the time she released the child.

Maybe one of the games developer can let me know if this is so?

I'm trying to reproduce the situation, but my oldest nursing mother (Nasha) is 72. Not sure if it is old enough for her to "die while nursing".
I'll have to wait until an older villager passes away and try to breed my oldest woman and see what happens...

Haha!

Nasha beat me to it!

She finished nursing, 2 of my villagers died. She is now 73 and is nursing twins!!!
Gee, I only took 1/2hr break and she managed all that!

If a nursing mother dies, so does the child
