Ok, so I ended up having to read the spoilers guide to figure out how to get rid of the algae... isn't it a little early to get the algae if i am only at farming lvl 1 and have only 8 people in my village (no deaths... just very early in the game....)

I got it VERY early in the game too

I never had an algae problem, but as soon as I had fishing 3 and the other necessities, I "fixed" the problem before it started.

also, i saved my coconuts till the end, and put all my efforts into farming. I learned that the hard way with the first game.
