I have a question: When I go to bed and this is running in the background, how come my tech points and skill levels don't go up much by the time I get up in the morning?? I never had that problem in VV1 and from what I'm reading, others aren't having that problem with VV2. Also, I'm not getting very many pop-up windows upon signing in, or just by playing. That is unusual from VV1 as well. Any suggestions??

If a pop up appears while your machine is switched off, it puts the game on hold until you open it. So if it appears say 1 hour after you switch off at night then its on hold all night and your peeps won't be working until you clear the pop up.

hmmm it didn't work that way in VV1. Could it be a glitch? I'm having a hard time racking up tech points unless I'm sitting right here at the computer 24/7 making people work and dragging the lil ones around picking up treasures lol

it's a problem that's being addressed... hang in there for the patch which should be out this coming week

Try to close game when you go to bed.. .. When you start game again you will have lots of tech pts, enough food and maybe few elderly villagers.. Set game speed on normal or 1/2 speed..

I always make a practice of closing and having it always on normal when before heading off to bed. But thanks for the tip shakle.

Are building supposed to get done faster if I set the game to 2x and then leave it running for awhile in the background or not? I had my villagers working on one of the buildings and it was like 59 percent complete so I set my game to 2x and let it run in the background and when I came back I noticed my food had gone down like normal and I had way more tech points then before but the building was still at 59 percent.... Is this normal?

yes it's normal...running the game 2x speeds things up. I always run at 2x through the day and when I go to bed I change it back to normal. Little hint though. When you change anything in your "Options", you have to go back to "Play" again for anything to take affect. Then you can close out.

Are there any patches for Fish Tycoon or VV1? Are patches automatically downloaded by the game itself or is there a place one goes to get the patch? Or does one uninstall the game, download the new version and install that? I'm new around here

As far as I have noticed, there is NO speed benefit to leaving the game running in the background. It doesn't speed anything up and because of the popup thing, it slows you down.

The only time I leave it open instead of closing it is if I want to get them to another task as soon as they are all done working on a project that will pop up the window. Then, I don't have to worry about them roaming about and not gathering food.

Has anyone noticed things getting done FASTER if it is running in the background?
