Picking up a kid and then pressing all the numbers on your keypad over and over again is fun too  I never miss a collectible when I'm doing that :P And you don't have to go looking for a kid once you spot one!

Okay, I am having a problem with one of my games. I have been successfully collecting pebbles, shells, butterflies and beetles. When I went to have a child pick up a pebble, she would not, I dropped her, on, aroung, beside, above, and anywhere near the pebble, she wouldnt pick it up. I switched children and had the same result. The pebble dissapeared before I could collect it. I was temporarily upset as it was a rare or uncomon pebble but got over it  . I am now posting for help as it has happened again a few minutes ago with a butterfly. Same thing, child was on, beside, above, below, next, anywhere near it and still would not pick it up. Has anybody had this happen? Does anybody have any help for me? (And I have NOT time traveled, thats cheating!!)

WHEN DO YOU GET THE BEETLES AND THE PEBBLES? BOY IT SEEMS LIKE EVERYONE WHIZES ON BY THESE GAMES.
I HAVE 8/12 BUTTERFLIES AND 6/12 SHELLS. AND BELIEVE ME MY CHILDREN WORKED HARD TO GET THEM.
I JUST STARTED YESTERDAY. BUT SOME OF YOU HERE ARE FINISHED OR NEARLY.
I PUT MY VILLAGERS TO WORK AND KEEP THEM VERY BUSY.
WHAT SPEED DO YOU USE?
ARE YOU DOING SOMETHING LIKE WARPING?
I HONESTLY DON'T SEE ANY FUN IN TRYING TO FINISH THE GAME SO QUICKLY.I THINK THE SLOWER YOU PLAY THE MORE YOU CAN GET OUT OF IT.
AND I HAVE L@@KED AND L@@KED FOR THE BETTLES AND PEBBLES. DO YOU HAVE TO BE ABOVE 2 IN EXPLORATION OR WHAT?

I've got 12 butterflies 12 pebbles 11 shells 10 Beetles I went to bed at 4:30am this morning (and got up again at 7 for the school run) cos each time I go to leave I think 'what if that last rare shell or beetle pops up' just 5 more minutes. At least I've finished the rest of the game now so 2nd time around I'll take a more relaxed pace.

Yes there are certain levels and events that have to happen before you get pebbles or beetles. If you search the formum under the spoilers it will tell you what level or event needs to occurr. Not trying to be coy... but this topic doesn't have "spoiler" on it.

how do you know which one are rare or uncommon? did i miss something?
for me, i have:
butterflies: all
shells: all
beetles: 0 --> apparently missed the event/tech so far
pebbles: 7/12

Here are some things that I found to be helpful. If you have exploration 3, the collectibles can be seen from the -m-ap page. But the program will not generate a collectible if you are looking at the -m-ap page, only if you are on the regular view. So, if you have exploration 3, every 30 seconds or so, check your -m-ap page to see if there are any collectibles to be had. Good Luck![/quote] this really works!!! thanks for the heads up

I have 7 puzzles completed, only used 2 spoilers, pretty good considering I used 13 out of 16 in VV1. I was real impatient. I am a little upset reading all the frustration and negativity about how long you have to wait for those last couple of collectables. I (like many...)have waited (seemed like) forever for this game to FINALLY get released that I am looking forward to a very exciting game! I don't ever want it to end!Ps, can I pre-order VV3?

Well based on what I have observed, you will find the pebbles only in the mosaic area after the dam is built, the shells on the beach, the beetles in the gong encasement area after the thorns are cleared, and the butterflies all over the place. Hope I helped someone out.
Oh, and I have:
Butterflies: 11/12
Shells: 11/12
Pebbles: 11/12
Beetles: 10/12
so far anyway.

Finally I have ALL my collectables. But I was just a little disappointed on the ending of the collectables. I won't say why because if I do I will be giving the game away.
But I am wondering if anyone else was a little disappointed or is it just me?
I DON'T WANT ANYONE TO THINK I DIDN'T LIKE THE GAME. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT.
But I kind of expected getting the collectables would have been a little more rewarding.

I'm down to looking for that one purple beetle. Grrrr I keep my screen on that part of the village, or check that area every 30 secs or so just so I can watch for it, but it never shows up.

I have:
10/12 butterflies, 1 uncommon 1 rare to get.
11/12 shells, 1 rare to get.
12/12 pebbles. (yippeeee)
5/12 bettles, 3 uncommon all of rare to get.
1/4 gong peices, clearing the patch of thorns took a long time, had 6 out of my 8 adults clearing it.
Still got along way to go with the rest of the game. I pause it when i go to bed, but i read that pausing it slows events down i think???? I try to go on in the morning before i go to work roughly 2 hours. Then i go on it at night 4-6 hours. So i have the game running for several hours a day. When i have the day off i keep game running most of the day & night. So that should be ok yeah????
