And the fact everyone has the same outfits and besides the fact babies STILL have grey hair, why when you ask to be ordered by health, are the sick ones last!!??!!! Who cares if they're healthy, it's the sick ones that need attention.

Uber annoying.

When you open the details screen you are on a villager. If that villager is healthy, it'll take a while clicking through till you come to the sick ones. Pick a villager whose health you know is low and the other sick ones will be next.

That is a great idea, thanks Arnie \:\)

I still think the sick ones should be first.
I was trying Carol's idea with "Sick Soup" so I could train the doctor. It got a bit annoying with 1/2 healed and 1/2 sick people running around.

I have to address the parenting issuse. You have until they are 18 to make a chart of who parented who. What more do you want? And as in real life there are the pretty people and the not so pretty people. Thats what makes this game and the world so great.

I can't see this obsession with the white (not grey) haired kids, either. What does it matter?

If we had that much freedom to me these boards would be a mess maybe even some cussing involved and going back to age diffrence is a problem people OPIONS affect some other people becuase we are all DIFFRENT AGES and all have our own opinion. And some are more experienced than other But that is mine but i think if u dont like a game dont spread it all over the threads speak to the person who made the game.

I don't think that is relevant with what I was talking about Village, but thank you for your profound thoughts. I agree entirely that cussing and the like causes problems.

Oh you got me chuckling, Arthur. I thought you were serious for just a second ;\)

As for the sick people, couldn't you click backwards through it (the left arrow) to see the sick ones? I can do it with the age and whatnot. Don't know why you couldn't with health.

Oh gosh. I mean, I love this game. \:D

Seriously, despite my negative comments, this game is quality and I have been playing it straight for two days ... or how many it was since it was released.

In that time my only interaction with my boyfriend has been when I've had to eat and when I asked him to find/create some viable software for a family tree.

We then found a site and downloaded the software and proceeded to make a family tree.. however it's kept crashing 'cause of all the date and links \:D

I do not mind the white/grey hair at all, I am a little annoyed that the REALLY big head guy is still around, and some being that looks like frankenstein.

It doesn't really bother me that much, but it would have been nice to have "different" and even unattractive without having outragous and ridiculous. I still love the game, just had to get that 1 complaint out.

Speaking as a big headed chick in rl all I have to say is thpppt (raspberries).

BTW.. is there any particular point to getting all of the "collectible" items? I dont bother scanning for them on a constant basis anymore.. it was getting a bit tedious.

Oh.. whoever did the artwork for vv2 should be commended... it's lovely:)

Each time you get a set you can get more villagers as a maximum. You also get a butterfly, shell, or whatever on the roof of the science hut.

I have found that the first time you get one of the collectibles, it goes in the collection. But if you get duplicates of what you have already collected, you get Tech points for them. The amount of tech points depends on if it is a common, uncommon, or rare item. This way, not only can the children help with food by finding mushrooms, they can also help get Tech points for the tribe!

yep, and the uncommon collectables are worth 500 tech points

and the rare collectables are worth 1,000 tech points. The collectables definitely help with tech point accumulation.

There is a way to change their outfits. When a villager is doing the laundry. You click on the villager that is carrying the laundry basket and you press F6 until you find the clothes you like. But be careful, because the choice of clothes don't go in a full cycle and if you reach the end of choices, your villager will be stuck with those clothes. Have fun!

Umm. Village Geek? To complain about something is nothing more than to mention that we each are individuals and have preferences. It isn't a political battle, or something that we should have to defend. The complaint wasn't any more offensive than your snapping his head off, although I just had to laugh. Aren't you being just a teensy bit over-sensitive? Do you have a chill pill handy?

I personally started my game over because the only male who was old enough to boink looked like he had a perpetual 5 o'clock shadow. Take THAT, you scroungy thing. You are not going to procreate in MY virtual reality!

It seems to me that instead of taking people to task for not liking the looks of little gray haired people, you could have just mentioned that in this version, the children will look like the parents. So just keep those old hags out of the shack, and I'm guessing you'll probably get rid of that gene \:D (I get to call them old hags, because at 61, I are one).

I've seen quite a few comments on some of the VV forums about age. One person said they figured the fact that the villagers could no longer procreate after 51 might torque the older ladies off. And I suppose that is possible. We're all individuals. But on MY part, as a 61-yr-old granny, I am glad to know that those poor little old ladies get a break. But can they still boink? Not getting pg ... that's terrific. But someone please tell me they can boink till they croak?

Lady Emz, it's my understanding that the children will look like the parents. How about trying to let your gray haired gene die out by not boinking them?

great way to get the females to esteem elder status... breed them now and then when they're still young and once they go grey you can just keep dropping them on the males... 2 mastered skills then a lot of ummm geriatric exercise and presto esteemed elder.

I love reading this board, I sit here laughing. I didn't know that the elderly ladies (was that 51 or 52?) could not get pregnant, but I do remember being shocked when I opened my game one day while playing the first game and found a 67 year old pregnant. I was worried she would die before the baby became a two year old. LOL!

I'm old myself and I still hate the grey/white haired children, they just don't look real to me. I have seen very few actually white haired kids in real life so they don't look natural. But please don't yell at me, it's just a game afterall.

Speaking of not boinking with the ugly ones...the only male my females seem to actually want to mate with is the ugliest guy in the village. I have a bunch of little ugly males running around now. LOL! I don't care, I figure he must be the nicest guy is all. (At least he doesn't have white hair! :-))

Chelah,
I didn't mate grey hair people. Besides a lot of people have complained about this skin (Heh, or hair in this case) apparently and I heard mention that it probably won't be repeated since it's so unpopular \:\)

Another GRRRRRRRR how long does it take to get the building skill??? This skill is the worst to teach:

Dropped Rose on to a hut to fix:
After the third time she wanders with "Worried about Housing"
AAhhhh duh?

Three more goes, third time "Unsure what to do"

Three more goes "Bored"
Hut is in good repair.

Next hut, repeat exact smae process. Crap and grrrrrrrrr.

And yeah, in real life how many 50 years olds do have babies without any fertility treatment or other medical help.

Go the bonking ladies!

Oh and cutting the bramble/briar/weeds and three structures later, my builder is still adept. It takes so freaking long.

\:D (Can predict the posts in protest already)

But Emz, some skills take longer than others.
But Emz, this is like real life (Ah, get a real life maybe ;\) )
Well, you wanted it to be harder, be careful what you ask for
Different people get different skills faster or slower
yada yada yada blah blah \:D but it's still pretty ridiculous.

In fact builders do take awhile. Strategy would suggest if you want elders especially when someone is old enough to work put them on building first, once they master it, it is easier to get the other 2. Get research last because they dont have to go far to work and succeed. This game adds a lot more strategy into it if you want to succeed well. But yea master builders take awhile, but far from impossible. I have like 15 of them.

A martyr is a person who is put to death or endures suffering because of a belief, principle or cause.
Is that a threat Monk?? ;\)

I do that Monk \:\) So while thank you for your profound thoughts of strategy, I did figure this all out on my own.
And I never said it was impossible \:D I was merely stating how annoying getting the building skill was in the first place and how long it takes to make a Master tis all.

Ha, whenever I make poison stews to train my doctors, the builders are always the test subjects. Once, I was annoyed with this guy who just didn't get the building thing, I made him eat the stew over and over and over.

Ah, revenge is a dish best served as a hot stew.

It might be a bit late for me to put my 2 cents in, but here goes anyhow.

The criticism of VV2 seems to have generated a lot of heated debate. People do have a right not to like things about it. However, like many of the arguments, it seems like this one was more about how opinions were presented than the opinions themselves.

We are all villagers on Isola ourselves, and we do have to learn to get along!

Check out the VV1 boards for all the things-I-don't-like type threads...
As individuals, we have different likes and dislikes, different expectations from the game. While LDW could not accomodate ALL of the suggestions we made in the VV1 forms, they did an excellent job of putting together another saga in the Isola adventure for us.

Instead of focusing on the negatives, start thinking about what you would like to see from VV3 (after they finsih PT windows for me, of course \:D )

When you open the game, instead of going to the main menu where you can choose Player/Village, it goes straight to a game.

How long, difficult and boring it is too get certain skills.
For example, woman used to have children usually DO take longer to become Masters. The Doctor thing, who has that time?

The Tech Wait.

The Golden Chi oh, wrong game, but I still hate him. \:D
