For me, I'd do Level 2 Science to get tech points faster -- then if you have enough coconuts, get the rest of the Level 2 techs. If you are low on coconuts though, I think it's better to just go right to Level 3 Farming and wait on the rest of the L2 techs...the crops just aren't enough to keep all but the smallest villages going for very long.

You can fish you dont need coconuts you can fish from the very start

You can't fish once you get algae, though, then you are stuck with the coconuts and the crops!

It's quite interesting to try out different strategies in different game slots...
