I'm playing TLC but having BIG trouble with food. My farmers won't stay on task or maybe it is that stay too much to task. Every time I quit the game and come back the food count is zero. For example, there are fish in the ocean, coconuts in the trees but all the farmers are watering crops that won't come in for an hour. I throw everybody in the water to fish so they don't starve, grab a baby to look for mushrooms and when I look again, they're back to watering! Its like they either fish or climb or water but won't do 3 no matter the level. My Master Farmer is just as bad as the trainees. Aargh! I got up this morning expecting to have racked up some tech points only to find the food at 0 and everybody sick. Started fishing then the algae came in, I'm guessing I need the need the next science tech to find the fish which I'm assuming are in the pool but I don't know if anyone will be alive. What am I doing wrong here?

VV:TLC does require some different strategies than the first game did, but you should be able to make progress in the game if you're careful to manage several critical factors. It's especially important to keep the fire going, to have healers, and to properly train your villagers. You should probably not regularly leave your game running at 2X speed for long periods until your village is well established.

I had trouble making a couple farmers until I looked at the details screen on each of them. That is where my problem was, they didn't like turnips and kept running away from the garden. So, I put them on other jobs. Now they are working.
