The other game could easily be played at work... innocently running along in the background, just checking on things a time or two during the day.
Now my villages must be monitored constantly, way to much going on and stuff to do...I'm so gonna get fired!!! ;\)

Maybe for the next expansion once the kids learn to harvest stuff they will do so on their own? Then you just need to train the new youngins.

This is true, especially early on in the game. You can't leave them alone a whole lot until you get it established. But that is what we asked for! We wanted it to be a little harder on more hands on! Right?

Yeah, it's really annoying Chrisinemh and not really practical for a real time game. What I do is Fast Forward at the start until my village is established.

I find putting my computer clock forward a hour at a time helps.
Of course, be careful as this may interfere with your anti virus program and other programs on your computer.
(More details in this post: http://www.ldwforums.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=54083&page=1#Post54083)

I don't find this makes it harder at all by the way, it's more inconvenient and annoying than hard. I would have appreciated more harder puzzles than this annoying lag.

I just make sure I have an adult and a child checked off for each skill and get them started on that skill so they do it on their own. HTH.

It takes longer, but I've been pausing games if I have to leave for very long (work, sleep), especially before getting rid of the algae. Even with villagers dilligently farming, the coconuts don't replenish very quickly and the crops aren't always enough food.

With the game on pause, I can come back and know there won't be any starvation, and I don't need to cheat to finish the game \:\) . Sure, it takes longer, but then I get to watch the village grow instead of having it happen when I'm not looking.

I really like that it is more hands on in the beginning. I definitely use pause more often than before, but thats ok, I like having it take longer to obtain stuff....call me crazy.

One thing that is driving me crazy though is that it seems to take longer to teach people stuff, but thats ok it just gives me more interesting things to say to them when I get a little frustrated \:\)

I am really having fun!

I like it but it's a little boring to put pause three time a day ( work, night ) cos the game goes very slowy at start, but, in the other hand it's very please to work hard to have a goot situation at village !
It's just disapointed in a game which must be in real time !

Lady Emz - I think you'll find that tampering with your clock or time travel as we call it, interferes with the puzzles and you may not be able to complete the game.

I am just at the point of trying to make some elders and also find this very tedious. I cannot leave them on their own for an hour. I too would have prefered more difficult puzzles instead of the villager's behavious being less predictable than in vv1.
