I have them picking coconuts. They are all disgusted by the algea, but I can't find those algea eating fish. A hint will be nice, but heck if ya wanna just go ahead and tell me...that's ok too. ;\)

you need a certain level of an obvious tech level to be able to find the fish \:\)

Ok so I assume I need tech level beyond Level Two in farming? Hope they don't starve to death. Not sure I could handle a diet of coconuts only. \:\)

Thanks Warren....guess I'll just keep on researching for more tech points. Seems to me there should be a better way to earn tech pts than having the whole village researching.

Collecting the collectibles will help. Duplicates of the rare ones add 1500 points a pop to your research

Rare, common or uncommon as long as they add points. \:D

LOL
Indeed....problem is I only have two kids running around and I seriously cannot keep looking for collectibles. I have laundry to do. BUT...I am glad to know that at least that is a source of tech pts. Didn't know that.

something I learned in VV1 was to just pick up a kid every now and then and drag it around the map. That way you can drop it on what ever you find. Easier than hunting them down when you find something lol

And how. I've used my kids to collect me thousands of tech points and hundreds of food points \:\) They're invaluable in this game!
I'm also waiting to get rid of my algae. But I have other things to spend my tech points on, right? My villagers will just have to do with coconuts and veggies for a while!

I've made sure I've always got at least two kids at all times, preferably more. As soon as I notice a kid is 11 or 12 at the latest I'll make sure that one of the villagers has a baby as a replacement for when the kid reaches 14 and can't hunt for mushrooms and collectibles any more.

The game is well-named: it's much more about the children than VV1. In that, children mostly just got in the way apart from the accasional mushroom. It's also good fun to watch them zooming about, playing tag, going to lessons, watching the work going on, or just sitting feeling lonely. ;\)

The children are definitely more interactive in this sequel. I like making them work for their living and collect things. It makes for very useful tech points.
