Can you drop multiple kids on mushrooms like in VV1?
Just started today and reading some of the posts sounds like I'm gonna kill a few villages before I get this one right =)

On the plus side, mushrooms do show up way more often than in VV1

Your right Nemyar! They last for like 50 years until they disappear!

Wierd, I wonder if I have a glitch because I've seen the mushroom de-pop just before I can drop a kid on it in the new game =(

You don't have a glitch, I think the others have a glitch. I've never seen any mushrooms or collectables last very long.

Perhaps they are seeing a time-warping induced glitch? I've never seen any of the collectibles behave oddly in a normally progressing game.

Yes, I've seen mushrooms disappear after a bit if not picked up. Back to the OP though, at most you can double-up on a mushroom... but more than two kids cannot bring back a single mushroom.

--Edit: Actually, I rescind that statement. It seems that, out of all the kids you pile on a mushroom, only half of them seem to actually get the mushroom. I'll play with it more later, but at least it keeps the game running smoothly!

you should not be able to double up on them at all

It may not be intended to have more than one kid take a single mushroom, eyeshigh, but as it is right now if you pile a bunch of kids on a mushroom, half of them (rounded up) will take the mushroom back to the bin.

Doesn't work for me -- all the kids appear to pick the mushroom, but only one actually goes back to the bin.

Why is it that when more than one mushroom or collectable item appears simulataneously, you can only pick up and dispose of one at a time? I notice that when I try to have a child pick up an item, as soon as I drag a child to another one to pick it up, the first one drops what they are carrying and it disappears.

It is strange that I am able to have a child collect a mushroom and carry it to the food bin while another one picks up a collectable and disposes of it in the research shed. But, not two of the same items at once.

Is this by design?

In my game they do last a little longer if it on pause, but just for 2-3 seconds more.
I dont time warp.

in my game i can get more than one child to pick up mushrooms at a time... you have to pile at LEAST 4 kids on it, but 2 will pick it up... if i put 10 kids on it 8 will pick up... works everytime for me...

I played VV1 and never knew about piling kids on a mushroom, so never even thought to try it. I read about it here while playing VV2 and have tried it a couple of times and even though it says they have a mushroom, only one is actually carrying the mushroom, at least in my game. I have never tried it on a collectible as I was afraid I'd just simply lose the collectible. Now you have me curious, I'll try it on the next common collectible.:)

Works everytime... It looks like the 2 kids who dont get the item are the oldest of the bunch... ! And if its a NEW collectible, ALL 10 of the kids will pick one. I did this once on a new rare item with 10+ kids and got a whopping 20k plus tech points! Must be a validation lapse on the array...

I've wondered about that too, serendipity. As for me, I play for the enjoyment, not to rush to the end or make it on the leaderboard.

Don't get me wrong Serendipity/DainBramaged, i've played the game through and through without resorting to glitches/shortcuts. But now that i've done that.... my programmer instincts now kick in and i pretty much like to try unconventional methods of playing the game just to see what happens.

As what Didi would say... "What does THIS button do???" <CLICK>.....<KABLAAAM!!!> --- [from Dexter's Lab for those who dont watch CN]

And as far as I'm concerned, I bought the game and pretty much I'm free to play however i wish to play it.

EsteemedElderly, I can't speak for serendipity but I was referring to players who just want to get thru the game in a day or think the only goal is topping the leaderboard. They seem to hate the journey & think of nothing but the destination. I agree with you completely, everyone is entitled to play however they like & I try not to judge anyone.

And I was LOL at the Didi reference!

I am getting the same thing, the math of it is,, 1 out of 2 will pick up, 1 out of 3 will pick up 2 out of 4 will pick up and the more kids you have it seems only the 2 oldest dont pick it up unless its a new item then they all pick them up, as of right now i have close to 40 kids, and all but the oldest 2 pick up what i put them on, as long as i get them there fast enough. makes for great tech points.

I had a hard time looking for my 12 kids in time before the collectible disappeared... I bow my head to anyone who can pile 40 kids on one collectible before it disappears.

My mushrooms and collectibles disappear fairly quickly as well. Sometimes I just have time to find a kid and drop him on it and then it disappears.
