time travel is adjusting your system clock. How many villagers did you have, what were some of the details of your game that you can give us other than "everyone died" There are a number of different reasons that can happen. Especially if you did time travel but also even if you didn't. How many farmers did you have farming...was the fire burning...etc.

Time-traveling is a popular way to speed up the games. But I don't recomend it, since it affects the game, but also you're whole computer. And cause about every problem you may find. And it damages you're game.

When this kind of thing happens, you can close the game, then go into My Documents->LDW->Virtual Villagers - The Lost Children, and open ldw.log. That file will tell you, more or less, what happened during the night.

"Wipes" where everyone dies do happen from time to time, but as you understand the game better, they become easier to avoid. Likely things: too many sick farmers, not enough designated healers, not enough farmers, or only female farmers, who got pregnant during the night.

If you had level 3 farming, and farmers to do the work, then the most likely reason I can think of is that the farmers got sick. They won't voluntarily work while sick, so if you had no doctor to heal them they never would have gotten back to work. And if it was off for a while (like overnight) the fire will go out, which makes sickness more likely.

Time traveling is messing with your computer's clock to advance the game faster - NOT recommended for VV2, since it makes it easy to wipe out your village and/or miss important things in the game.

One of the hints that comes up at game loading (and I think when you click themask) is "Who is healing the healer?"

I'm not saying it happened in this case, but one scenario is: your healer gets ill and there's no other doctor to heal him. Then villagers take sick and no-one to heal them cos your doctor is sick. I try to leave 2 doctors on duty for overnight play

if you lower the speed setting it will stay on a LOT longer. On 2x its only on for 9 hours total. So if its at 3 and you go to bed it will be out way before you wake up. Best practice until you have a few healers put on normal or half speed before you go away for a period of time. Then check the timer and see if that is long enough till you return

2 healers with skill preference set to healing, and a good gender-mix of farmers, are both good safeguards against overnight wipe.

and you don't have to wait until the fire is out or nearly out... you can add wood to the fire anytime.. so before you go to bed, add some wood and you have a fire that will go for the maximum again \:\)
