Just wondering if the discount offer was still valid or if the idea would be too difficult to put into place since VV:ANH is available for purchase in so many different places.
Original Post: Re: Virtual Villagers 2: sneak peek
Thanks for the enthusiasm, and as always for all the suggestions.
VV2 will be a stand-alone game, but we will do our best to offer discounts to anyone who bought VV1. This is easy for people who bought it directly from us, but we will do our best to extend discounts to anyone at all who bought it (and can show some kind of email receipt). This will likely be for the period immediately following release, maybe a couple weeks or so, so make sure we have your email address (opt-in from our previews page) and we'll keep you in the loop when it is ready.
We are really going to try to address some of the things people were talking/complaining about and our goal is to 1)Continue the story of the island 2) Make the game even more engaging and 3) Make the end/late-game more interesting and varied. _________________________ Arthur Lead Designer Last Day of Work

The discounts will be offered when we start selling the game on our site, which is still a couple of weeks away. If you want the game sooner, you will need to purchase it from Big Fish Games at full price.

Thanks for the quick response!! I think though I will go for the full price for two reasons, the major being you guys deserve the highest profit possible. I usually don't purchase online games but you've got me snagged with all the work you put into the idea of the VV series, AND IT'S KID FRIENDLY!!! two..... I just can't wait any longer and my kiddos are dyin' to play the new version lol! Thank you all also for the long hours you've all put in today especially in anticipation of the gazillion ?'s reguarding the new game!

OK, you've started to sell it on your site. How do we get a discount? Should I just go to "Buy" and go from there? Thanks for your info. in advance. I've enjoyed VV1 for a very long time and just DL the Demo of VV2 and used up my hour. Want it NOW!! Thanks.

Is there anyone out there? I've given you two days to respond. I've sent an email with no response. What else can I do to find out if the DISCOUNT OFFER IS STILL VALID or if there is going to be a discount offer, offered? Thanks. Cheryl

Arthur made a post in the forum about the discounts before the game was released (the forum search function is very handy ), and provided this information to people who had bought VV1 and were asking about discounts: we will do our best to extend discounts to anyone at all who bought it (and can show some kind of email receipt). This will likely be for the period immediately following release, maybe a couple weeks or so Since the game was released almost 3 months ago, I would suspect that the discount offer has expired. However, only Arthur and Carla can say for sure. If you didn't receive a response from your email to LDW, it probably got caught in a spam or junk filter. Carla answers all support requests, but many email providers block email from ldw.com.

However, LDW hadn't started to sell it until a month ago, I think. I knew that BigFish was selling it before LDW, but I kept checking here and I couldn't buy here. Was referred to B.F. Now, I could be wrong, cuz I've been in the past. If I am I will very gracefully admit it, bite the bullet and pay full price. In fact, I've been waiting so long that I might just go ahead and use my "only" birthday gift of $20 and get it over with. Don't mean to sound like some kind of miser, I'm just on a fixed income and every penny counts. As any retiree or disabled person will agree. If you can give an answer one way or another, I'd appreciate it. Thanks for your patience with me. I realize I'm a pain in the b***, but that's ME! I can't change me, nor would I want to. For now, consider this a closed subject for me after your response. Happy Mother's Day, everyone! CherylL5156
