I just noticed when they collect fish they get 11 food points each but the coconuts only get 8. I just started this morning & the only upgrade I have is the farming. Kind of aggrevating because I can't keep them fishing they keep going for the coconuts.

This is normal. But there is more food on the island than fish & coconuts. I'd advise trying to find it.
