i think you just put your villager near them and they fly away

That is one of the puzzles. Start dragging different villagers around to find the solution.

Your farmer needs to look for something to take care of them. Remember the tried and true technique of dragging your villagers around to see what they notice? It works here, too. \:\)

you have to make a scarecrow with the roots and somthing else

I keep dragging my villager (adept farmer) to that area but it just says she is "confused" and "unclear what to do". What do I do next?
