and if an island event happens to kill him - as Tzigone mentione above in this thread - is it possible to make another one?

There is no hospital in this version of Virtual Villagers. It's in the new one - Virtual Villagers: The Lost Children

Fly, the GC will allways be stuck at 5. And no, you can't make another one, if you happen to kill him by an event.

Ok I guess the guy talking about hospital was either in the wrong area or was dreaming something up...

As for the GC, well I guess I'll be careful with islands events, as even if he can be a royal pain by throwing parties left and right, he still is handy for restoring crops etc...
