On VS, does more famers = faster crops growth?

No, I'm afraid not. The crops grows at the same speed everytime. It's been awhile since I've played VS (I switched to PPC) but if you switch your game speed to fast, that will make them come in around 2 times faster then normal speed.

so if i put 6 farmers, all farming and watering the crops, compared to 1 farmer farming and watering the crops, they will come up at the same time!? please confirm this

also, since I am at the subject, once the crops are up out of the ground, if 6 farmers are taking them out and putting them in the food bin, does that make the crops deplete faster than if 1 farmer does it? what I am asking is do the crops stay out of the ground for a certain amount of time, or until they are all picked out?

No, but it helps them gain farming skill in the process!

There's a certain number of crops that the field produces and that can be picked. If you click on the field, the number of crops left will be displayed at the bottom of the details. More farmers get those crops picked and in the food bin faster, and then the next growing cycle starts sooner. Hope that makes sense and helps.

I only can speak for VV, though I assume things are similar for VS. More builders on a building = faster building, yes. More farmers on a farm = more crops brought in sooner, but the growing season for the next harvest does not necessarily come faster. I assume that the replenishment of the farm comes in regular intervals similar to that of the berry bush, but I haven't done enough experiments to verify that, and sometimes the amount of time needed for the next harvest seems outlandishly long. If only we had a couple more farms so the villagers could practice crop rotation.
