Has anyone else noticed this? If a couple of youngish villagers are marked for parenting, if they are allowed to go out on their own they tend to go after the oldest villagers around? I've had a couple of births happen to women villagers in theirs 70's and the father has been decades younger! Kind of yechhh...

That is how the program is setup. They will always go for the oldest in the tribe. Same way with telling jokes, arguing and so on.

I thought it had something to do with the order from the details button, because in my everyone-18-or-older-must-breed village, I had a 14yrold first on the list, so everyone talked to him, but they bred with the 70yrolds. But when the the 14yrold turned 18, the women ditched the other old guy.(I forgot to mention the 18yrold had a pony tail )

For me it's kinda diffrent for every village that I make. Sometimes the girls (and guys) go after the older people. But in other cases they will just run after one person PERIOD! So if one guy goes in with another girl, his action says ~waiting for someone~ and by the time he gets in the love shack he has 5 girls with him!

The "Breeding" Order goes like this: Village Elder or Leader, then any siblings or other births close to the Leader, then the eldest villagers on down the line. In regards to the Village Leader, I posted a description of him here so you can read about him and see how to locate him. \:\)

That's one thing I don't get. The 70+ year old women are more likely to die before the child reaches two. Then you lose mother and baby. It would be nice if the breeding men went for only the women between 18 and 50. Cause if the guy dies, well, it doesn't effect the baby.

Call me Yentil \:\) I am the Matchmaker. Because I keep a family tree of my villagers, I try to mate my little people as much as possiable. Therefore, there are few surprise births )though it has been known to happen from time to time) Sometimee, like with Ebony and Noah, they chose each other, sweethearts ever since they were in nappies. They were both Researchers and had 11 children, including the GC. When Noah died at age 79, Ebony picked flowers, placed them on his grave and then died. Now, together in death as well as in life. Sometimes I will have a villager who wants nothing to do with mating. Nina for example, ran from every male in the village. She never mated and just seem to enjoy building. For me, playing the role of matchmaker and knowing "who's the daddy," adds just alittle more fun for me.

If you play matchmaker, though, you have to make sure they don't run off and have an unexpected tryst! ;\)
