Got another question! When your in the store selling the fish, the chart show a purple fish, is that one fish in the game? I haven't gotten yet and was wondering about it. Both me and a friend that I got addicted to this game keep talking about and neither one of us as found it. Thanks!

Hey, Snapper, there just really some fish in the game and some i think are just other fish, i don't think are possible.

Once when I was looking for a challenge, I tried to create all the fish on the poster. Some of the fish on the poster are hard to figure out. Some of them are real fish, and unfortunately we can't make those. The purple fish I think you're looking at is a real beta. Drats I know, 'cause that one's really pretty!
There is a purple leafish on that picture but I can't tell what it's fins are.
The one's I figured out are:
greenfin beta
pink fruitfish
silky shark
orange pygmy
snubbed snooper
twin-fin fatfish
finless grouper
oriental flashfish
golden spotanus
there is also:
something goldbulb
something quicksilver
great-sail something
and a few small fish that may be goldshark, fire-arrow, and comet

If one of you can come up with a larger poster that's clear enough to tell, I'd be grateful. Of perhaps one of you LDW people know what they are?

I know it's been a while since anyone has responded to this post, but it takes me a while sometimes. Let me say at the outset that I DO NOT have the answer to your question, but it has puzzled me for months, as well.

I believe that what you're referring to is a fan-tailed something-or-other. I don't know how to get it either, but if I'm not mistaken, there is a website that can help. Do the following:

Go to FORUMS, click on THE GUIDES, then click on FISH TYCOON GUIDE, and finally, click on SPOILERS. When the topic opens, you will find a link to the Clever Arts website. It contains a calculator of sorts that allows you to describe the fish you want to create and tells you the fish you need to breed to make the fish you desire.

P.S. The only reason that I haven't followed up on this one myself is that I've become engrossed with Virtual Villagers! Haven't had much time for Fish Tycoon since.
